Data on small number resale contract sales?

Over time, we plan on adding 100 points direct to our AKL contract to ensure we have direct benefits after our BRV contract ends. (We may instead buy at Reflections when it comes online, or at CCV, but regardless, we’ll add 100 pts direct at some time in the next couple years).

I was thinking of getting 2+ small point contracts instead of 100 point, so that we can add over time but also because if we ever need to sell, it’ll be easier to sell small contracts and not sell all the points at once.

My question is: does anyone know which small contract amount is likeliest to sell? Should we get 4 25 point contracts? 2 50? Is there a sweet point # that usually sells best that people are looking for in small contracts?

And, if you sell any of those contracts, just so you know, you will fall below the 100 point threshold that was needed for direct benefits and will lose them.

To get them back, you’d then have to buy more points from Disney and meet whatever the new threshold is At that time.

I think if you want to do CCV it will be 50 point minimum contract and I’ll assume that Reflections will be the same way as it is 50 point minimum for RIV.

If you do AKV, you should be able to do 4 25s.

I know we’d fall below the amount needed for direct benefits, but I figure if we’re deciding to sell, we’ll be okay with that, too. Good to know about the minimum buy requirements; thanks!

I was actually thinking of doing something similar but for different reasons. Basically if we were debating if it made sense to buy Riviera and what other resorts we would be interested in, we currently own AK. Instead of buying 100 at Riviera we might do 50 and 50 resale at Bay Lake and then we would have a MK resort, an Epcot/HS resort and an AK resort. Then would just have to manage bank and borrows every trip for the two resorts.

As @Sandisw pointed out, there is a minimum of 50 points at a lot of resorts, and DVD won’t budge on this. I bought 175 points at RIV but tried to buy 200 points as 2x 75 and 2x 25. This would’ve meant I bought 25 more points than I did, and they said no 25 point contracts for RIV even though it meant less money for them. I expect Reflections will be the same. I don’t know if you can buy 25 points at CCV as I didn’t really follow the info on that resort. I’d trust others if they say you can’t.

Another point which hasn’t been mentioned is that you have to pay closing costs for every contract you buy. It’s a few hundred extra dollars for each contract, so it’s just another thing to keep in mind. Personally, I’d stick with 50 point contracts because they’re just as “in demand” as 25 point contracts and save yourself the extra closing costs.

Also realize, that you could do 2 25's and a 50 (or any combo), they dont all have to be the same size.

I personally would love to find a VGF 25 pointer with my use year, but I doubt that will ever happen. I think there is a demand for them, but I think 50 pointers are so in demand anyway, that that is probably fine.
