I'm glad to hear that you made it to the end of the process okay. I almost think with your family's particular set of challenges you might have an easier time in future applying in person at Guest Services.

They do handle multiple guests at a time with booking which explains the miscommunication. This is further into the conversation today (after speaking with a CM to change a pass and she asked me to tell me the date and what attraction to cancel and which to look for; each question wait was about 10 mins yesterday; hopefully not longer today-sat):

I don’t even think I’m in a queue. I went back and forth and a survey window popped up. The join chat button is not visible for a live chat and it’s still spinning!

Same thing on my iPhone

I know you did get in, but for other readers, the spinning wheel means your browser is trying, but is not able to connect to the link.
This can happen on other sites too; it sometimes means the site you are trying to get to is too busy to connect to, could be an issue with your or the site's internet connection or your browser. It might eventually connect, but usually will just time out and exit the page.
You are not actually connected to chat when you see the spinning wheel

When it's not busy, the CMs doing DAS Advance Selections are often only working with one guest at a time. When it's busy, they do work with more than one.
It makes sense from their standpoint because they can be looking for selections for one guest at the same time as a second guest is typing their selections into the secure form.
Some might go much faster than others because the guests are ready with their 3 top choices for each park. Some might be more time consuming because of reservations or attraction choices or times that are higher demand

I had typed my reservations and was ready to go but she left the conversation for 10 mins and then came back (it did take exactly 10 mins but I took a screenshot inbetween).

In any case it’s better to be prepared. It was almost 3 hours total yesterday to get selections in for 7 days.

I know from reading other social media that some people are not prepared. If the planning CM is helping a 'non-planner' at the same time as you, it can take a really long time.
When I did it earlier this week, I was transferred to the 'planning CM' at 5:50 pm Central Time; she did let me know she was serving another guest at the same time. She sent my booked DAS Advance Selections for me to approve day by day - I got the first one back by 6:08pm and was finished by 6:36 pm.

This morning, our advance selection planning chat took about an hour to schedule four days of preselects. I was ready with our requests, and filled out the form at the beginning. The agent did seem to be working with another guest at the same time, but she never left us for more than 7-8 minutes without contact. She was able to schedule our preselects around our dining reservations, so we were happy.

It could be that Fridays are just unusually busy. Nov 3/4 is an holiday up north and Jersey week and we could get Jungle Cruise and Navi earlier in the trip around Halloween (day 3/4) but not day 6/7.

I’m glad it’s over and we’re happy with most of the preselects (one does conflict with Fantasmic if they add the second show 10/29 and push our ‘first show’ from 9:30 pm to 8 pm) - they will most likely make that change this Thur/fri
