This morning, I got the above error message in the Chat box after 1/2 hour. I was already logged in and the previous page was Terms and Conditions which did not help. In the Chat, I had no option to type anything and to me it looked like there was some kind of system problem and the session was hung up - so I got out and figured I would try again later. Can anyone illuminate me as to what is SUPPOSED to happen during the chat? After clicking the Start box within the chat and getting an automated message - I got nothing until the above-mentioned message. When a Cast Member is ready - is there a beep or some kind of notification? Do they send me a text? Does something new pop up on my screen? I am afraid of just sitting there for 4 hours when I may have no chance of getting through anyway because there could be a problem with the session at the Disney end. ANY knowledge relating to the above would be helpful - I do not expect one person to be able to answer everything.

No this is normal. You literally just have to log back in and keep refreshing. It logs you out every 30 minutes but you don't lose your place in the virtual line.

Thanks for your reply. But how do I log back in when I was never logged out? Do I actually logout and then back in? If so - how does it keep my place in line?

Mine didn't look like I was logged out, but when I tried to navigate to another page, and got to the another page (i clicked on something random) I WAS logged out and then logged back in.

Instead of constantly logging back in - couldn't I just wait until the Cast Member comes on and then Log in?

Sorry to jump in, but would anyone know if it is better to attempt this on your phone or the website?

I just did this today. It was logging me out every 30 minutes. Simply logging back in did not refresh the chat. I had to click the request video chat button again. When I was able to click this after logging in, the chat box with previous text would re-appear. My issue was this button was often not available. It was just a spinning circle. I ended up switching devices to get it to work.

I understand you can't use the app, but can you use your phone, logging into the website with a browser? I dread carrying my laptop around all day on Friday, like into the bathroom and such. Plus when my (adult nonverbal) son is home HE want to use my laptop (Youtube). thanks!

I was able to log into the website on my iPad, so I think you could do it from a phone. The first time they sent the video link it did not connect. At one point it was suggested I try chrome. I tried a different device but could not get the chat window up. I did end up connecting on my ipad without using chrome.

May I ask what you used on your ipad if not Chrome?

I used my phone with the Chrome browser. There’s a little refresh button at the top of the browser I just kept pushing.

You can't use the phone app, if that's what you are asking
You can use the phone or tablet app (at least on Apple devices) as long as the device has wifi and can connect to the internet.
I used the My Disney Experience app on my iPad to register my DD.
Open the app, log in, to your account, then tap on the 3 lines in the bottom menu bar.

That opens up a page of tiles, which link to the Disney website pages for different services. Scroll down to ACCESSIBILITY and tap.

That opens up the DAS page on the Disney website, scroll down to the REGISTER FOR DAS link, which takes you to the same place as if you started from your browser. Read and accept the CONDITIONS and the text chat will open.

Safari is the default web browser on my iPad and opened from the link in the My Disney Experience app. I had checked the setting before starting out to make sure Safari was configured to allow use of the camera and microphone.
Mine never logged out; I kept touching the screen occasionally to make sure it didn’t go to sleep.

You can use either a phone or the app on a phone or tablet (at least Apple).
See my previous post.

As long as you are using a smartphone or tablet, you can also just go to the Disney website.

I'm basing this on the dozens of reports I've seen from people being told they cannot do the video chat from the app. Don't know what to tell you, but they were told no.

Well, I did it from the app and have seen reports from many other people who also did it from the app. It opens up the same webpage, so I don’t know why it would be an issue.
I DON‘T think it was linked to the website in the first few days when the video chat started, so people might have been told in the beginning not to do it.

My experience is with an iPad Air and it worked fine. I DON‘T have any experience with devices other than Apple; their apps may work differently and may not be able to do the chat from the device.

I did it today and was on hold for 5 hours. It took me another hour to complete the process because I kept getting kicked off, even during the chat. I used my iPad, which I use all the time for telehealth appts, so I know it wasn't my equipment. I was shocked, tho, that the first available Jungle Cruise for 3/31 was 10pm.

Getting kicked off over and over and over again plus keeping my DAS-holder in limbo made for a stressful day.
