I already have Genie+ because I pre-booked it before they change it to getting it daily. Since I already know I will be able to use genie+, is it worth it to also get DAS or not? Is DAS usable during the halloween party?

It depends on your needs and how many rides you want to do with genie you are limited on the number of rides

We usually do both DAS and genie+. It gives you flexibility in selecting rides/experiences. We have had occasions where a ride wasn't available through Genie+, but was able to get a return time using DAS. Having 2 adult children on the spectrum, this was a huge advantage.

Thanks for the info. Using DAS is new to me. I'm assuming it is most like lightning lane with Genie Plus. Do they ever run out like lightning lane options do? So if Slinky Dog is out of lightning lanes, does that mean a DAS pass might not be available for that ride? I understand that we have an hour to ride the advanced selections but I thought that when you book DAS passes at the park you can use it any time after that return time. Is that correct? So if the return time is 5pm do we have to be there by 6 pm or can we get there at 7 pm if need be? The lady that set the advanced selections up for me said we only have an hour after the return time to get to the ride no matter what. Another thing that will be nice using Genie+ along with the DAS is that if I don't want to ride something, everyone else can get a lightning lane for it. Do we have to wait until we are inside the park to make day of selections or do they start at 7am like lightning lane selections do? I am not finding much detail about how it works other than how to register for DAS.

Regular DAS Return Times obtained in the park will not run out. It is based on the standby wait time. So as long as the standby queue is open you should be able to get a DAS Return Time. You and your whole party will need to have entered the park to get a Return Time on the app; it does not open early like Genie+.

Regular DAS Return Times obtained in the park do not expire. You may use it anytime after the stated time. So a 2pm return time you could use at 5pm. However, you cannot get another DAS Return Time until you use it.

DAS Advanced Selections scheduled on the chat do expire. It will be good for at least a 1-hour window. Some folks have reported it disappearing shortly after that 1 hour, others have been able to use it a little later. I would plan to use it within the hour. You can also get a regular DAS Return Time in the park for the same attraction.

interesting. I never had mine expire! I think just about every one of my selections I have never actually arrived during the window, and they remained on my screen. This has been the case for 2 trips now that I have used DAS.

I found using DAS and Genie+ to be overwhelming honestly. I kept having difficulty keeping track of scheduling and felt that I spent most of my time on my phone scheduling things than enjoying it.
I decided to go without genie+ for my most recent trip this past week and personally felt DAS was more than enough.

This has been our experience as well. Never had one expire including advance passes.

We are sitting in the airport, waiting for our flight home. DD had DAS, and we didn't do Genie+. We found that our pre-booked DAS didn't expire, but there are just as many who find that they do. Our regular DAS reservations remained valid until used, but we couldn't book another until we used the first one (NOT the pre-booked).

To book an in-park DAS, DD looked at the wait times for the attractions she wanted to experience, then booked one. We kept it in mind but did other attractions with shorter wait times until we qualified for the DAS time. One thing we learned was that if she decided not to use a DAS, she could cancel it online; we didn't have to run across the park to "tap in" which was nice. It gave her the ability to change her mind depending on how the day was going.

I will say, the crowds were very low this week. Star Wars attractions aside, the longest stand-by line we saw was about an hour for things like SDD and MMRR. On Friday (a MNSSHP day) the longest wait was about an hour for Jungle Cruise, but everything else was about 15 minutes most of the day, even the Mountains. It was pretty sweet, actually!
