we plan on visiting Disney world this summer prior to a DCL cruise. We plan to get a DAS for our son who has ASD. My concern is that the website says up to 6 guests and we are a family of 8. Will the CM's allow more or are they strict on their stated policy. Or, can we do rider switch in conjunction with a DAS. I know the kids will all want us to ride together as a family.

They have the option to extend it to more people who are together. We were a party of 7 and they allowed it (we were all there when we signed up initially)

We have been a party of 8.
They can make exceptions in situations that warrant it, with all members of your group present. Anything over 6 at WDW needs a Supervisor/Lead to approve.
They are unlikely to approve a group of 8 friends or a group larger than 8, but they do make reasonable exceptions - especially when dealing with parents and minor children or parents, children plus grandparents.

we had 8 in september and the CM never even questioned any further. she just said how many are in your party, i said 8, and she took his picture and off we went. no supervisor was called. I am guessing, like anything else, that it depends on which CM you get too.
