As I understand it, if we are a group of 5, after our return time the group will use the FastPass line. If when we are about to board a particular ride, the DAS card holder chooses to use the chicken exit instead of riding, will they make the group go back through the regular line?

I would assume the answer is no because ultimately you've passed any CM that would know why you are in that line to begin with.

However, I will point out that the purpose of the DAS is for an individual who has an issue that hinders them from waiting in a long line, and a certain number of their party, to be able to "wait" for a ride without having to stand in line. If you're knowingly using a DAS rider's pass to avoid the line for a ride you preemptively know the DAS holder would never ride, I would say that's "abusing the DAS system"....

I am not suggesting that is what your intention is, however, questions such as these perpetuate the implication of misuse. At least IMO...

Again to answer your question though...No I think you would still be allowed to ride the ride without issue.

The was in the before times (before the reduced capacity and shutdown of fp), we were riding FOP with a girl with special needs. She rode it one day, and loved it, really made everyone’s day with how happy and excited she got over it. We took her to ride again the next day and the CM helping us strap in remembered her and was super friendly and kind. Well, right before it was gonna start she unexpectedly got very anxious and wanted off. A different CM came over and of course let us off, and then asked to scan her band to see if she had used DAS for the ride because if she had, the rest of our party would need to leave too. I was about to tell the CM that we hadn’t used DAS for this (regular fastpass), but the CM who remembered her came over and said he knew we genuinely expected her to ride, since she had so happily ridden yesterday. At that point, everything was fine. We were escorted out, while the rest of our party rode, no problems, and they never checked for DAS or not.
This might have all been because FOP was so new at the time, and lines were crazy, but I do think they know DAS is sometimes abused this way, and I do think they have ways to check, if they feel they need to. I certainly got the impression they were looking for folks intentionally trying to abuse DAS, not people who honestly had an unexpected change of mind. Our experience was a little odd, but everyone was perfectly polite, and I think the discussion was completely reasonable and very quick.

I think the correct thing to do is to let the CM know the DAS holder has decided not to ride and ask them what you should do.
This is what DH does when something happens (i.e. his knee won't let him safely get in the ride vehicle), the CMs have always let the rest of the party ride and in some cases gave the entire party a recovery FP "for the inconvenience". But, the only time he does this is if there is a problem with trying to get in the vehicle, it isn't because he just changed his mind and didn't want to ride.
