DAS at MVMCP/Jollywood

We’re visiting in a couple of weeks and are going to both Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights. We already have a DAS for our son, and we know that we can use it there. I’m curious to hear about the experience and any specific advice, does it work for any of the character meet and greets, or only for rides? Is there any saved space in shows or parades (I’m guessing that one is a no, but figured I’d check so we’re prepared!). Thanks in advance for any advice, we’re very excited!

We didn't go this year, but a couple things I know:
- guests going to the parties can enter before the party officially begins.
- DAS can be used on the My Disney Experience app during the time between when party guests can enter the park and the park closes to day guests.
- after regular day hours end, DAS will not be available in the app during the 1 hour between the park closing and the party beginning.
- during that hour transition time, guests can still make DAS Return Times at attractions; anyone in the DAS group can make it without the DAS user present.
- once the party begins, DAS will again be available in the app

I have read reports guests were able to make DAS Return Times for characters. Not sure if it's all characters or not. I've seen reports of getting a DAS Return Time before the party begins for Christmas characters; the times I saw reported were pretty far into the party

Our experience was MNSSHP last year but we had a return time for Jack/Sally. Once we got in the LL it moved incredibly slow though so be aware of that possibility and your timing with entering the line.

I believe certain characters start meeting before the party but you have to be a party guest to attend or some such. Once they start meeting and have a posted wait time of 15+ minutes you should be able to get a return time. For our Jack/Sally return time we had had to go to guest experience because it wasn’t coming up in the app. It took them a few seconds and we had a return time.
