I just read a thread about getting a DAS card OUTSIDE the park entrance at WDW the day before you entered the park. Are you able to get them OUTSIDE the entrance at DISNEYLAND the day before you enter? If so, where would you go to inquire about it and do they have special hours? Thanks!!

I have not read any reports of people obtaining a DAS outside the California parks. The DL & DCA - Disability Access Service Card sticky near the top of this forum includes the following:

Can I write ahead of time and get a DAS card? Where do I request one?
No, you can't write or call ahead to get one.
If you have specific questions about the DAS program, you can email Disney at disability.services@disneyparks.com
issued at Guest Relations at Theme Parks (see below for locations)
- DAS card issued at one park is valid at any other Theme Park; do not need one for each park
- DAS card is only used at Theme Park attractions; not used at Downtown Disney, transportation, restaurants or parking

Where can I find Guest Relations in the Parks?
- Guest Relations in Disneyland is called City Hall and is located just inside the park on the left hand side. The front entrance has steps, and the ramp is located on the far side of the building.
- Guest Relations in DCA is called Chamber of Commerce and is located just inside the park on the left hand side.
- Please note, under the GAC system, it was not possible to get a GAC at any Guest Relations location outside the park entrances. There is no evidence this will change under the new system. As far as we know right now, you must actually enter the parks to get the DAS card.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thank you lanejudy for your prompt answer. I knew about City Hall at DL for DAS passes, so I was confused about WDW DAS info. Thanks again!!

They just changed the guest assist pass. We went this week and it was a bit of a nightmare go cms and guests. They no longer distribute the passes. They are linked to your ticket and you get basically fast pass return times. The trick is you need to write down your return time because it's so easy to forget. The issue we had was their wifi went down and that's how they access the Info on your tickets. We waited over 25 minutes just to get a wait time and that was with us being in front on the line waiting for wifi to restart. Poor cms were so frustrated.

So you got your DAS and then when you went to get a return time, it was put onto your ticket and nothing was written on the card? We haven't used the DAS system at DLR yet...planning to go in June but may cancel if the system won't work for us and our touring. In our case, if we went for a return time for Racers, for example, would they put a return time on each of our tickets (4 of us)?

It essentially works the same way, it's just electronic now. So the DAS is attached to the ticket media. They'd scan all 4 tickets to add a return time.

Are we allowed to try to get paper FPs at an attraction using our tickets if we can get up early enough to do this? We never get up early so it will probably never happen, but I was wondering if having the DAS return time attached to the tickets will prevent us from getting paper FPs? Apologies if I am terribly behind here. We have been going to WDW a lot more (last December and just a few days ago), so I understand that system with the MBs and DAS and FP+ (the system does not work for us, by the way, but that's another story).

When we were in DL in March and again in August you could absolutely get paper FPs in addition to your DAS return time.

I think the question is, now that tickets are scanned when a DAS return time is issued, does that affect the ability to get an FP. It shouldn't, since the return time is not an FP, but no one has come back to report on it either way, and this new system has only been in place for a few weeks. The ticket scanning has been going on for awhile at the Frozen virtual queue, and that hasn't had any impact on the ability to get FPs.

DAS and Fastpass are 2 separate things and can both be used separately or together.
Having DAS doesn't have any impact on using Fastpass and in fact, it is meant for guests with DAS to use both.

I know they're different, but the question was about the action of scanning admission media, which can confuse and concern people. Plus at DL, FP isn't really a substitute for DAS if you need to bypass the physical queue, because you will still go through a good portion of the queue. Most DAS return locations are the alternate entrance. It would apply more in DCA.

We went prior to the electronic implementation, but, I know we had a fastpass, the WOC fastpass, the Anna & Elsa return time and a DAS return time all at the same time. This does not mean we were abusing the system. We went to DL for our Anna & Elsa return time where they scanned our ticket and gave us a fastpass like return ticket. We stopped and got a return time for BTMRR on our DAS card. We then went over to DCA and picked up a WOC fastpass (not attached to other fastpasses) and stopped and got a fastpass for RSR.

Personally, I think a return time and a fastpass are 2 different things and therefore you should be able to have a DAS return time and a fastpass. I don't think you can have 2 DAS return times at the same time, which is what Disney is trying to get away from.

When we were in DL the week of the change we had no problem using FP and DAS when scanning the tickets. We had FP for Radiator Springs and were able to get DAS times during that time.

We also only had one glitch where the system did not register that we had used our DAS time for Toy Story even though we had already ridden and our tickets had been scanned. We had a new time issued for another ride, but when we went to go ride we had to go to a kiosk to fix the problem.

As for the wifi issues we did have a couple of issues with the CM's being able to get wifi at the kiosks. Mostly our problems were at the kiosks at Paradise Pier and the one across from Carthay Circle in DCA.

We actually found the new system to work very well overall. We also preferred the kiosk system over the system of going to the rides in WDW. It was great being able to get a time in one park with plans of hopping to the other, or even just across the park from where we currently were.
