1.. The chat asks specifically if party change or registration. That's new.

2. When we did it.last weekend, the CM specifically added DAS to our special event OBB tickets along with our Magic Keys. Without even asking him to do so.

I just got approved for my trip and I am so thankful to this thread for helping me prepare. In advance I made a list of the accommodations that I get at work and a list of difficulties I’ve had with queuing and also with just riding attractions in the past. This made it so much easier to explain everything, especially having to do it all twice.

I asked a lot of my questions on the call but forgot a few of them:
(1) if I want to add/remove people from my group can that be done in person anywhere or only via the chat?
(2) I have Halloween Party tickets, do I need to also ask them to put DAS on those or is it done when I got approval for the regular tickets?
(3) what other things around Walt Disney World parks can ask for DAS? Eg are character greets available? (My experience at Disneyland is that passes for character greets are a separate accommodation and not part of DAS so approval for one does not automatically mean they give the other)
Did you have to talk to the medical professional?

I added a couple more options to the survey at the top of this post.
I couldn't change the first 2 options because there were already responses on them.
I added a comment to the OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS choice, which had no responses.
I also added 4 new categories to be able to specify approved or not approved for cognitive related and physical/medical

We were just approved for my DD(15) who is neuro-divergent and also has physical issues as well. This was for Disneyland. I started the chat at 3:48pm, the cast member initiated a call at 4:52pm and the call was closed at 5:01pm, so about an hour and 12 minutes from start to finish. She asked some in depth questions for how she does in lines and what we do to help her etc... I'll be honest, I was super stressed and nervous about this call but the cast member was very nice and understanding. Our daughter has qualified for over a decade but I wasn't completely sure she would this time. I am so relieved. We would have made the best of it, but it is nice to know that this will help us immensely.

1) my understanding is the guests need to be added by the Accessibility Team chat. I think you can go back to have more added just using the chat feature without the whole interview processes again. Just be aware that only a max of 3 plus you can use DAS for any given attraction.

2) I don't think they put DAS on the party tickets, but you might want to ask in the chat.

3) character meet & greets with a posted standby time are eligible for DAS. Party characters are not, nor are the regular park characters without a posted wait time.
Thank you so much; I went on chat today and added our third guest. Super easy and was completed via chat.

Got on chat this morning at about 8:45am PST and got on with someone at around 1pm. I believe we were approved based on our child’s age and their inability to control certain behaviors and being in lines is a trigger for them.

i just got off the chat. was denied das, but was told i, along with my gf, didn't have to enter the line and to ask what they could do for that. idk what accommodation the cm will be able to do since there wont be anyone in the line to meet up with. im very confused. i fly in tomorrow and i'll try it out but i dont see how this is gonna work when she said they dont give return times, but i also dont need to wait in the line either.

That's as clear as mud.

Is there a reason your GF cannot stay in the queue for you to rejoin if you needed to leave the line? If she is needed to care for you if exiting is needed, present that to the CM at the entrance.

Query what to do if you both need to exit the queue and let the CM guide you through the options at that attraction.

Without getting too specific my issue gives no forewarning and exiting isn't an option. ive had a couple of instances in lines where i needed the ambulance and cant exit the line so i always need someone with me and cant be by myself. This applies to queue or not, so she would have to be with me. I'll find out tomorrow how it goes and report back

Just to report on my experience, because that's what this thread is about.

This was the DL video chat.

I tried getting the chat four times, each time waiting on hold for multiple hours, until I had to leave each day. I waited in the queue for a collective 16 hours. I am not complaining I am just reporting on what happened. It was my choice to leave the call because I could not stay, not their fault.

Once we got a hold of a video chat the process was relatively quick. I was asked a series of questions, with my son present. I was 100% transparent. I applaud Disney because during the call, my internet went out. I panicked but was able to log back on. My son was approved rather quickly I can say with confidence "without giving details" he qualifies for the DAS and this will make our visit possible.

Seems to be an unfortunate trend at Disneyland with being able to get through, but I've also seen more overall DAS success stories out of Disneyland as well.

Approved for 6yo child for Disneyland.
Pressed the "Request Live Video Chat" button at 8am. Waited maybe just a few minutes and connected to agent in chat window. Whole process took maybe 35 minutes. Agent had me prove he was in the room with me, then asked what his troubles waiting in line are and for examples in our lives. We discussed strollers and stroller as wheelchairs tags and some of his other challenges. Approved for DAS. He hates having his picture taken, and she was very cool at working with me to get what she needed kind of on the sly (I DID tell him they would need his picture - we just didn't make a thing of it when it was happening). She was very kind and it was an overall pleasant experience. I was nervous and had notes ready, but didn't feel like I needed them once we were talking.

My son (17) was approved for DAS today for WDW. The entire process took about 15 minutes from the the time I started the chat till we went through the interview. The CM was super nice to my son, chatted with him about his favorite rides and his favorite teacher, asked him and then me what kinds of challenges he has with queueing in lines, then very quickly approved my son.

Just did DAS for DL for my trip next week. Took about an hour and a half to get in the call after I entered the chat around 2:30. Entire thing including the wait took about two and a half hours. Some of which was chatting about additional accomidations unique to DL beyond DAS itself particularly some information that somehow in the past decade I hadn't entirely realized. Which after the last two DAS chats I'm realizing there are still things I'm learning on how the parks work. Even after the last decade. CM was super nice and helpful. Didn't talk to a medical proffesional.

I will say I am still only approved to have myself and myself alone on the pass. Only mentioning it to set expectations because with adults I suspect its harder to get approved outside of circumstances.

I keep seeing that they ask about schooling and speaking to the kids? Are they asking about accommodations they get at school? My kiddo is non-verbal so do I just tell them that?

They don’t have to talk to the kids if that’s not going to be helpful for the interview - just prove they are present & also take a picture. You’ll do the talking. They may ask about accommodations in their lives - for most kids that’s at school.

I spent a few minutes jotting down prompts for myself so I would be able to present my info without missing important details, dug down deep and found courage, read and accepted the terms, took a deep breath and clicked on the "Speak with a Cast Member button at 1:43 pm Eastern Daylight for Disney WORLD. I answered the questions the Bot spits out :who needs the accommodations, date of trip and who will be travelling with me, same as the other times I've done online. In less than 2 minutes a Cast Member joined and sent me a link for the Zoom meeting. She asked the same question I've had during my other 3 registrations "what are the issues that you want to discuss" (paraphrasing but that's the general idea) I told her that I had a list of what happens at home and how I deal, along with examples of what happened on our last trips, both with and without using DAS and asked if that would be helpful. She let me ramble for about 10 minutes, occasionally interjecting, "oh I get that" or "you're fine, keep going" I stopped to look at my paper to see if I missed anything while she was already saying "I'll set you up right now, let me take your picture" Start to finish was under 20 minutes, even after the Zoom meeting app screamed about needing to update

  • Yes, I've had DAS 3 times before, all done online (thanks to this amazing circle of empathic and supportive of people starting the thread about how it worked!) Would NEVER attempt in person because I would dissolve into tears!
  • Same questions I've been asked before - I actually gave enough detail that she didn't ask ANY follow-up questions
  • NO ONE else was brought into the conversation
  • I was approved for the DAS pass and it's valid until January 25th (because I have an Annual pass maybe?)
  • Non-medical reasons
  • Non-developmental reason (but I'm too old and female, meaning never given a "label")
  • Guess I fall somewhere under the "similar disorder"
  • without giving any details, most of my issues are what most would lump under "anxiety disorder"
  • Myself & hubby
  • ONLY hiccup- my Zoom needed to be updated and that took at least 5 minutes, the Cast Member told me to breath deeply, she would wait as long as it took

Huh that's interesting your approved for all the way until Jan 25th. I'm an AP as well and the DL pass was good only until NYE from my start date on the 2nd. Which would put it at 120 days. Is your trip somewhere around the 20s of next month? Because that might be why your window is that long.

Because I know my CM altered the original start date to reflect my first date at the park after we had a discussion about when the 120 days would be up and if I needed to renew before my trip in January (which the answer to is yes.). So its definitely something they can do.

(Wouldn't expect to do that everytime though. Pretty sure this is just them doing something nice and not required.)

If her 1st day using DAS is September 26th, it would run until January 25th. This seems consistent with everything else we've seen for AP--it just means she applied right at the beginning of her 30 day window.
