I wasn’t asked to turn the camera to my son until the end, I think that was after she approved him? She did ask at the beginning if he was present in the room though.
They require a camera because they are taking a picture of your son. Your son's picture will pop up on the lightning entry kiosks and the relevant tablets whenever he taps in.

Just finished my call, was denied as I expected with how the changes have gone. While I understand, and I want nothing more than families with children who need this service to continue to get the accommodations they need, I am still frustrated. The person on the call was friendly until I tried to ask some questions after the denial and explain why the very obviously scripted responses she was giving me did not work. She then became fake friendly and defensive and was trying to get off the call as soon as possible. I was not being argumentative or unkind, I was trying to ask how the "accommodations" available to me were going to work. She kept repeating that I was still going to be accommodated, but it would look different than what I was used to and I needed to speak to the cast members at the rides. I am traveling myself and 2 14yr olds. She told me if I had to leave the line to take them with me as they were too young to leave in the line. She also told me I did not have to talk to a cast member to leave the line, although I am unsure how that would work if I wanted to return to the line? Thank you to the Disboards and the Disabilities group for the information being shared. Knowing this was coming I had started to try and figure out how Genie+ was going to work for us, I had of course not planned for that and now the whole system changed 2 weeks before going. I am sure we will have a good time no matter what, but it is frustrating trying to make this a good trip for the girls, but managing my illness. Please know I am perfectly safe traveling with minors on my own. My plan for the trip was based on how I knew I had managed things in the past and now I need to change that. As a side note, I don't want to make this about money, because my goal was not "free" lightening lane access, but wow, its gonna be like $700 to add LLMP and LLsingle ride to our trip.

Sorry you were denied. Are you saying the CM said you can not leave two fourteen year olds kids in line? That does not seem accurate. I am also confused on how return to line would work if you did not speak to a CM before leaving.

If you talk to the CM before getting in line about what to do if you need to leave, you likely don't need to find someone again when if you do leave, especially if you are trying to leave in a hurry. As long as you speak to someone at each attraction where you might need to leave the queue, I think you'll be fine, whether that's just before you get in line or also when you leave.

Thank you, yes she did mention talking to cast members before I get in line about needed accommodations, at the time I was feeling more like that was just part of the pre-written answers, but what you are saying makes sense. I guess on our way in I should stop and ask protocol if I need to exit.

I wanted to create a thread that was STRICTLY for feedback on your DAS conversation with MS.

First time DAS applicate or have had DAS in the past?
- If it is not your first time, did the process go differently?
Approved for DAS? Give other options?
- If given another option please explain the process!

As there is another thread for extensive conversation on DAS, I would like this to be all about the data and not a conversation on opinions or thoughts therefore being RESPECTFUL should NOT be an issue.
- Adult DD approved, not first time
- I was in the other room, but from what I heard the questions were a little more detailed (I won't go into them here because it would be too specific)
- CM also asked about using certain strategies but DD explained why and gave the CM specific examples of what's happened to her

Love seeing them advocate for themselves. Kudos to her.

Great job

Just got denied for an upcoming trip, after having been consistently approved since covid.

I explained that with my disability I can't walk to say, Slinky Dog without knowing that the line itself will be short, and was given the return to queue or wait outside the line at the discretion of the cast member option. I mentioned that if my wife is then in line, I won't have anyone to provide care should I need it, but it was made super clear that DAS is meant only for specific developmental disabilities.

The cast member was very sweet, and also clearly had a script to use. I was given an email if I have feedback, but no supervisor option. We're annual passholders and while I still plan to vacation at Disney to take advantage of the resort amenities, I am less likely to continue with my annual pass due to my likelihood of not being able to enjoy attractions. The new Fastpass system also doesn't meet my needs as my condition is variable and I can't be sure until the day of (or hour of) how I'll be feeling. If an option was added to get a refund if a day isn't used I would be more enthusiastic about that option.

I wonder if you could purchase the LLMP the morning of depending how you are feeling?

I'm thinking the same, though with the pre-purchase option I imagine most things would be sold out then. I'm also not sure in the morning how I'll be doing by say, mid-afternoon. It's definitely worth trying though.

How often do you feel too unwell to take advantage of LLMP at all? If it is 1 in 10 times, perhaps it’s worth taking the chance and mentally writing off the bad day. If it is every other time, the math becomes harder.

I have been approved the past 2 years & have been dreading applying this year. I often get the "you look perfectly healthy". I had about talked myself into not applying under the new guidelines. I decided to apply tonight. There was no wait time. The CM was available & we went to video chat. I was terribly nervous & explained my condition & health issues. This was a more tedious process than previously. The CM asked several questions, she was kind but all business & very thorough. I was approved & I am so grateful. It's hard to navigate the parks w/ DAS & I couldn't imagine having to do so without it.

I was denied. I have a non developmental, non mobility issue that cannot be accommodated by RTQ. Logically I knew I probably would be denied under the new rules but it was crushing just the same. The CM was very polite and professional. He gave me suggestions but none of those are realistic for me. I hoped that if I explained I was willing to pay for lightning lane, there might be some workaround that could make it work better for me (DAS light), but sadly no. I have one more trip that I have committed to but that will be the end of my trips to Disney :(

We were just denied. We have received DAS in the past after attempting to make other accommodations work. The CM stated only developmental disabilities would be accepted for the DAS and gave a few examples, but I'm not going to list here just so it doesn't make it easier for scammers.

One member of our group has severe anxiety and PTSD. We stated we had used the trick in previous trips of having them wait outside of the queue and then attempting to rejoin us when we got towards the front but it caused more stress than necessary. They said we needed to try that again and see if it has changed. One of us will need to wait in the queue while the other waits outside with them and get periodic updates.

Kind of an overall bummer, but what are you going to do? We didn't get upset with the CM, it isn't their fault but just frustrating that those who were scamming the system made it more difficult for those who actually do need it to have an enjoyable trip to Disneyland.

Speak with the CM and the person who is waiting should be allowed to enter the LL to meet up with the rest. They don't need to push through the queue. Just be prepared the CM may ask that the whole party enter the queue first and the individual may leave and wait outside if the need arises.

⬆️⬆️ THIS

The reports I've been seeing on Social Media from people who were told about meeting up, but haven't gone yet are concerned with pushing past people and being accused of line jumping.
The reports I've seen from people who have actually done it have almost all been positive. Exactly what they reported happened varied a little. Some were told the first group would be waiting at the Fastpass/Standby line merge point and group 2 entered the LL to meet up with them. Others were brought in another way by a CM. It depends on the line/attraction. The only experiences I've read where the guest had to push past other guests in line were people who didn't talk with a CM first and assumed they needed to figure it out themselves

We were there 2 weeks ago. I had to use return to queue twice (Tron and Flight of Passage) due to claustrophobia. Both times I waited alone (I didn’t ask if anyone could wait with me) while my family waited in line. I asked at the beginning of the line if I could wait somewhere else and rejoin my family when they were closer to entering the ride. For Tron they asked for my party to FaceTime me when they got to the merge point. I then showed the cast member the FaceTime call and they allowed me to rejoin. For Flight of Passage I was given a lanyard and was able to wait in a large open area. Once I saw my family enter this room I was able to rejoin them.

Thanks, I was wondering how the VQ rides will work without FP. Ideally I’d love to wait for my family after the pre-shows. I know the pre-shows are the merge point for GOTG, what is the merge point for Tron? The room with the magic window or the lockers or ??
