DAS and boarding groups

Hi,

I’m sure this must have been asked before but I can’t find the answer, so apologies in advance.

With the VQ boarding groups are the CMs lenient with timings when you have DAS? How long after could you ride if we are having issues getting to the park?

TRON definitely is strict, and I believe Tiana is also. Guardians will accept a late boarding group as long as it was from that same day.

You are held to the VQ rules as it is a VQ time and not a DAS time, once at the attraction they turn your VQ into a LL so you can use the LL to access if you are on the DAS program. GOTG has an unofficial policy of anytime after your boarding group has been called (even hours later) so no worries there, don’t let the app panic you about missing your window. Tron is strict with times, you should return within your window. If you do miss your window due to something unavoidable talk to a CM at Tron on the long shot that maybe they’ll let you on.

Idk about Tiana’s.

Thank you both, that is really helpful to know. I’d rather just let it go than rush there and be disappointed or turned away. That would be too much for our DAS holder.

@lanejudy and @gottalovepluto — am I understanding correctly that you could get a 7AM boarding group time but if you can’t actually make it to the park until 4 or 5pm they will generally let you on the ride? We have a flight landing at MCO around noon and I would like to do the 1pm VQ but we aren’t able to actually scan into the park by then…was wondering if it’s worth trying to get a late morning BG and ask for leniency. I used to be DAS but now I am not, so not sure how that will impact things.

For Guardians -- correct.

TRON definitely holds all guests to the assigned boarding group windows, even if you have DAS; very little (if any) wiggle room. I believe Tiana is also being strict, at least now during these first weeks/months.

Tron is a hard no because folks were abusing it and waiting until night to ride it in the dark.

Tiana has some flexibility depending on how busy it is and very much YMMV.

Guardians doesn’t care, we’ve used it multiple time after our boarding group.

Just to piggy back a little - you can only hold "two" things at once, correct? Like either boarding passes for Tron AND Tianas or one boarding pass for Tron and one DAS ride. And both of those are separate from LL's. (Man this is getting confusing with changes happening within a week of travel!)

No. But it depends on what you are holding:

DAS - max of 1, can select another 10 minutes after using the current one
VQ - max of 1, can select another once it is used
LLMP - max of 3, can select another on a rolling basis for a total of 3 max throughout the day
LLSP - max of 2 may be purchased each day

Each are separate, so technically I suppose you could hold a total of 7 if you had all of the above.

Bumping this thread a bit, now that Tiana's has been open a while. Anyone know if they're still strict with the boarding groups?
