Darth Vader at wedding

Does anyone know if you can book Darth Vader through DFTW to make an appearance at the wedding? We are thinking of surprising my brother with him at his wedding!!! What about a storm trooper too?!

I'm fairly certain the Star Wars characters can't appear at events - I know some people have used the 501st Legion in order to have the characters at events (like a welcome party) but I don't believe that method is permitted for weddings, and definitely not for anything in-park. I don't know if anything might have changed considering Disney owns Star Wars now, but I would suspect the characters fall under a similar branch of the Winnie the Pooh gang, where they aren't allowed to appear at weddings.

My DFTW wedding planner posted a video of the 501st Legion at a reception in the grand Floridian a few months ago, so that avenue is definitely possible.

So, I know he can be there at LSS. As you know, that's where we are too.

Really?! Now I am stumped because our Wedding Planner said that he could only appear at Hollywood Studios or in an Un-Themed Ballroom at the Resorts..

Hmmm...that IS puzzling! I KNOW my old planner told me it could happen. That said, my old planner no longer works for DFTW...so maybe he was losing it! I don't know.

I'm sorry. I promise that I didn't purposely try to mislead you. I'm just going off of what my planner told me almost a year ago as we were trying to come up for surprises for my DF (my email signature line is "May the Force be with you," so he misinterpreted my love for "Star Wars" as something DF would also appreciate). Your planner would certainly know better!

It's also possible that things may have changed between when my planner told me I could have him, and now. I think there's a big push to move all the "Star Wars" stuff to HS....so that's a big possibility.

I'm sorry! So yeah...the 501st might be your best option, then. I don't even know how to get a hold of them, but I know a lady on FB who DID have Darth Vader and stormtroopers at her wedding. I know that it wasn't in HS or in a ballroom for her reception...but I'm not quite sure where. It was still on property though. Like, I think in the Swan & Dolphin area. I THINK she used 501st people. I can talk to her if you'd like, and see if she has contact info.

Heck yeah! I can't believe we're now like, 19 days away (18 and some hours, actually). And it's so cool you guys are in LSS. We're out of there at 2 PM. With your reception at 4 PM, I bet you guys are in there right after us! I went back and re-read parts of the PJ again, because I noticed that the reception technically goes to 9 PM. Are you guys leaving the reception early to do the DP? I figured that was still happening?

Generally speaking, there are some restrictions on which characters can appear where. I don't know vader specifics, but I'm not surprised if they won't allow him at living seas simply because the environment there would not be consistent with his character.

Yes we are! I believe we are having the official "last song" played at 8:40ish to give people time to start getting over to UK for the Dessert Party at 9pm.
