Darling Husbands!!

My Darling DH tells everyone we have fairies in the house. We have a laundry fairy, dishes fairy, cleaning fairy and a packing fairy. He LOVES going to Disney, although he will never admit it until we are there of course, but he does not get the obsessive planning. His idea of packing is taking the bags to the car LOL

My DH would be wearing the same shorts, shirt, socks, shoes and underthings for the whole trip if he ever thought magic like that happened at our house! :rotfl2:

No, you're not the only one. I do it all as well. My DW just packs for herself. I take care of all arrangements and packing for our trips with our three kids. My DW is also happy to follow along. She knows that the one thing I can be completely trusted with is planning a Disney vacation.

Ditto... I do all planning, flight purchasing, dinner reservation making, hotel selection, etc., etc., etc. For all vacations, not just Disney.

The wife packs her and the DD's suitcase. I pack mine and off we go.

IF I asked my DH if he wanted to go shopping with me for anything, he would "magically" disappear;) I thought it was cute he said that to you, says he has complete faith in you. My DH pulls out what he thinks he needs then I pack leaving out anything not necessary. I plan, he goes. Just tell him the dates of departure and return so he can leave a message at work and away he goes.

DW wouldn't even know how to make a reservation. Everything involving travel is left up to me (not just Disney)! I am not the best packer, so DW does create a list of items we need. Then when I pack my bag, I just check off the list. I'm also the one that goes shopping for anything we need for the trip. I also usually pack a FedEx box of food to ship down before we arrive. I tell DW all the time that she better learn how Disney planning and DVC works in case, god forbid, anything ever happens to me.

YES! I can sympathize completely! And my husband gives me a hard time (jokingly) about all the planning and packing and organizing that I do....

our funniest story, we were driving through for a Christmas visit in 2009 and when we left Ohio it was starting to snow. While loading the car my husband forgot to pack his winter jacket and really did not think he would need it in WDW...it was a cold snap in Florida and the lows were in to the 30's... we had to track down a coat in Florida which is not the easiest thing to find in a normally warm climate! But he still has not completely learned his lesson...

I think it was a sweet thing for him to think and say, BUT I sure am glad hubby travels for work now and is finally capable of getting his own stuff packed for our trips...

Another thought that came to me when I read your post from the male point of view. You want me to go shopping this weekend for items we might need for our upcoming trip in SEPTEMBER? Had my DW said this to me I would be humming Patsy Clines "Crazy" for the next hour.;)

If you want hot-weather (summer) clothes you gotta go now! Harder to get good hot-weather clothes once you're in "back to school" selling season.

Can't even buy a bathing suit at Target *in San Diego* when it's outside of summer-selling season....

I told DH many times that 2009 had been cold and that it MIGHT be cold for Dec '10. He ignored me. He had everything packed very nicely for hot weather.

It was NOT hot weather during our trip.

And he's a bigger guy. Thankfully he found ONE sweatshirt in his size, just one. (we didn't go all out for shopping, didn't visit WOD until after that, fwiw) Glad for that sweatshirt, because he was nearly in tears b/c of the cold for Illuminations one night... And he's a guy who literally wears shorts until it goes BELOW freezing, but sometimes not even then.

I bet he brings his sweatshirt for our September trip...just in case!

I see your point, however wouldn't it make more sense if you get those clothes in the middle of the season when they would probably be on sale. See, I can think like my wife.:goodvibes

Ok reverse for us here. I am the DH and I do all the planning and reservations. Don;t get me wrong DW loves to go but I have to handle all the planning aspects of the trip.

This is what happens when you let us pack for ourselves!

Same here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another DH here, I do all the Disney planning, room reserving, dining reservations, studying to choose which park which day and the driving. My DW packs her bag, the food and does the shopping. I don't like to shop.

Great pic Bob!! :thumbsup2

But isn't the guy in your picture just doing what many have suggested like this quote?

He has to dine with me and if I want him to wear nice "matching" clothes, I pack them.

Obviously this guy knew how to pack the "matching clothes".

:lmao:

:woohoo:

Then you are not allowed to pack either!

Oh, so true! Dh thinks all browns go together, all blues go together, etc. I definitely have to pick clothes for him...when it matters. Sometimes, it's just really not all that important..think fishing trips. lol

I get told my DD4 can dress better than I can... it doesn't get me out of packing though. It just means I have to listen to my wife complain about my outfit(s) for the entire trip.

I do all the packing here too for DH, and kids. Well actually I do it all, the planning the reservations, the tickets, meals, you name it I do it. As we get closer to our trip, I'll get a phone call while I am out saying, "you know I can really use new sneakers for our trip, socks, and underwear. :rotfl:Then I'll be out another day, I'll get another call, "can you grab some t-shirts while you are out".
It's just all part of the planning, for me at this point.

I really thought at one point, he must really not know what to do. Until.....this past Nov. he surprised us while we were in Disney. I went with the kids and my Mom and 3 days after we get there my DH shows up.

So lets see, you bought your own airline ticket, set-up traveling from the airport to the hotel without a hotel reservation, and packed your own bag:laughing:
So the secret is out, You Can Do It!.... Guess who is helping with our August trip this year!:)

Thank you! After a long hard miserable day at work, this really made me laugh!
I just love it.

My DH does his own packing, I do all the planning because I find so much happiness in doing that.....and I am the one who remembers to pack the Pixie Juice. :lmao:

His reply: " One of the things I love about going on holiday with you is that my case magically packs itself with all the things I need in it. I have complete faith that this will happen in September."

That just sounds like someone begging for a suitcase full of stuff like this:

I hadn't thought about the fact that you have to be seen with him. But hey, you know what... what are the chances you'll run into someone you know?
