Darfur = Region in Sudan. Sudan = Country in Africa.
Currently, there's a genocide going on. However, I don't know a whole lot about what exactly is going on.

The UN hasn't publicly declared it a genocide, but it certainly is. In Sudan, there are two groups: the Janjaweed along with the government, and the black Arabs that take up residence in Sudan. The government started paying the Janjaweed, who are trained militia, to kill off the black Arabs, or an "ethnic cleansing". That basically makes up the whole problem, along with the many other things that branch off from it.
