In my school, all the girls wear hollister and abercrombie. I was thinking of doing my own style, you know, carson's, JC pennys, Discovery. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this topic. Do you dare to be different in your school?

I HATE Hollister and ALL brand name clothes.

I get my clothes from.. where I find them.
If I see something cute, I'll buy it.

I could care less if it's in some high fashion store or in a department store like Giant Tiger or Value Village.

I try to dress differently then the girls in my school.
Which isn't that hard, since they all wear the EXACT SAME THINGS.
Uggs, Hollister, Abercrombie...

I mean, in middle school I wore all of the above to fit in.
But now I feel better about myself when I wear things that I like and think are cute, not that I buy just because of the label on it.

I do wear hollister and abercromibe. but when i look around, i see like 1 person a day with the same shirt on! i am going to shop otherwise from now on. thanks :D

I guess I'm different. I was getting into a hippie vibe but it was sort of cut off when I got a job. Now when I get home I just want to wear a t-shirt and some soffe shorts! And when I go out I just wanna throw on my pair of comfy jeans, simple flats, and t-shirt.

My style now mostly consists of t-shirts I bought at Disney, and other randomly collected t-shirts from volleyball and such. Jeans, I have the comfiest pair of jeans ever (Project Denim? Something like that.) And flats. These simple flats I have in dark blue and black that are very comfy.

Occaisonally I'll throw on a flowy dress, some jeans and flats if I'm feeling up to it.

thanks everyone!!

I dont "dare" to be different.
I just am.

Ive always been different.
ALWAYS.
I dont believe in spending loads of money on things used to cover my body parts xD

As long as it gets the job done!

Shirts, pants, undies
Are the only things i need.
NOT

"ohmegeee holister shhirt"

I YELLED (how else would anyone hear you its so friggon loud!) inside of hollister yesterday, thats a long story, and its late, and im too lazy to type it, so...i will post it tomorrow.
It was great.

Haha, when I get home from school I LIVE in a tshirt and soffe shorts.

I'm the same as Mouse...
I don't really have to try and be different.
I just am. From what clothes I wear, to my hobbies, to the music I listen to.
I wear some old navy t-shirts which is what some kids at school wear and occasionally I'll wear flats, but that's about as "not different" as I get.
Mostly is just jeans, t-shirts, hoodies.
Can't stand hollister or any of those places.

Go for it Katie.
Being different is fun.
=)

And JCPennys has cute clothes and shoes. :p

Ohh no. xD
I do see a lot of people with that BRAND of clothes but never with the same clothes. They have a lot of different stuff there: hoodies, sweatpants, shorts, skirts, polos, tanks, etc...so I never get it when people say that they're all the same.
But whatever.
Yes, I will call myself different because I really don't care that other people are wearing the same BRAND of clothes I am wearing; if someone wants to make that a problem, then let it be.
Do people really try to be different, though? Isn't it just..you wear what you like?

ETA: Oh, shoot. I wasn't talking about school. We have uniforms.

Im different, but not to be an outsider, thats just how I am.

With the whole shopping thing, I shop wherever.
I occasionally shop at Hollister, but Im not like
'O-M-G If I don't get that new $50 tank top with the hollister seagull on it im just gonna die !'.
Sometimes I see clothes in there that I like, but I dont really care about name brand items, I do love fashion, but as long as the clothes are cute who cares where there from ? :goodvibes

I grew up wearing uniforms.
This year I'm homeschooled[10th grade] so I just wear pj's all day. When I get clothes I lovee urban outfitters and american apparel. Urban outfitters because they have pieces that are different and american apparel has the basics like t shirts and hoodies without names plastered on them. Anywhere I find something I like I'll wear it from. If I find something at hollister I like, I'll get it. I mostly just go in there to smell it though. I don't think just wearing what everyone else is wearing is style. Mixing different things to make it your own makes it look a million times better than the same shirt everyone is wearing.

We have uniform.

If we didn't you wouldn't catch me dead in the popular brands purely because i think they look cheap and tacky (i'm talking fred perry, lonsdale and mckenzie)

(i'm talking fred perry, lonsdale and mckenzie)
Don't talk about the 'chav' brands lol. It's true I own some of those brands, but it is for sport only I swear!

We also have uniform, but your "sense of style" at our school is made up by looking at your shoes or your bag.

I don't really TRY to be different, I just wear things that looks good on me & that I think are cool.

I'm kind of fashion forward & I'll wear the weird stuff in H&M that no one esle will try.

In HS I was the first girl to wear a dress to school (which then became a huge trend. bleh) and I'm not afraid to take risks when it comes to fashion.
I was wearing Hollister & A&F in grade 8 before anyone even knew what it was.
I don't really wear it anymore, I prefer to shop at stores that are more fahsion-y rather than...california-y? (lol, or whatever it is A&F/Holli are)
Like H&M (which is kind of like urban outfitters in the states), Gap, Banana Republic stuff like that.
There's this place in downtown Toronto called Kensington Market which has THE most AMAZZZING clothes that you can't find anywhere else. It's awesome.

And there is this place called Aritzia (if you live in Canada I guarantee you've seen their logo plastered on the butt of EVERY girl in your HS) that literally EVERY GIRL shops at, it's the Hollister of Canada I guess you could say. They've got this brand called "TNA" and walking around my campus, I swear to you every other girl has a TNA bag, TNA sweater and/or TNA pants. It's ridiculous.
They have some nice clothes there, but I've never bought anything becuse it's all really over priced and basically everywhere you go, someone will have the same outfit as you.

Anyways, so yes, I do dare to be different, I'll wear the stuff that is in style, but no one else really wants to wear to school.

I don't practicularly try to be different.
I am.
Me and my friends don't wear designer clothes. We hate designer clothes.
My friends and I would so rather shop at a vintage store.
it's more fun and you find amazing things for good deals.

I was always different... and I didn't really care about what other people thought about me because I didn't wear hollister or whatever...

I don't care or try to be different. I am though lol.
so far 11 people from my school have the same bright blue hollister hoodie.
