Dapper Days in September - anyone else thinking of going?

I have narrow feet as well and they fit my feet just fine. search by fit. The Kadee ones I have are described as relaxed fit but I don't fight to keep them on at all. You can search by standard fit which fits more tightly; http://www.crocs.com/crocs-fit-guide/fit-guide-landing,default,pg.html

the classic looking Crocs are described as a roomy fit. They would look ridiculous on my feet.

Wow! That's very helpful information sweethannah! I just assumed all Crocs fit like the original classic looking ones, which feel like I'm wearing a box on my feet! LOL.

Looks like we have a few votes to hold the meet at the Grand. Now we just need a time!:thumbsup2

Any suggestions for a location within the GCH to have a meet? The outdoor fireplace, where we've had "official" meets in the past, has gotten a bit crowed (and a lot smoky).

Well, there's a 2nd floor balcony that overlooks the lobby, and there are a couple of outdoor balconies but I'm not sure they're open.

White Water Snacks here we come.......better lay in a stock of Mickey Bars! :rotfl:

And by amenities, do you mean a handle of vodka, some lillet blanc a shaker, and a bucket of ice?

I saw those online, they are gorgeous! i wanted to get the yellow and polka dot one but they didnt have my size. i got some fancy flats on mod cloth and they ship fast as well. Im doing pants and capris for the rest of the week and im making my shirts out of dresses that are fifties style and cutting them into long shirts. I want to wear a dress all week but i want to ride on splash mountain and i dont think that would work. lol will you be doing your hair fancy on saturday as well?

I never considered Splash Mountain...hmm, well if I ride it I'll just have to hold my skirt down and hope for the best I suppose :rotfl: I just bought one of the Audrey Hepburn dresses (in turquoise with the red heart belt) because amazon had it for 40.99 and prime shipping. I have an addiction to those dresses! I am not good at making my hair super fancy, I have an appointment on Friday at the Dapper Day Salon, and hope that I can get some tips because my hair is super frizzy and curly. Depending on what I can glean on Friday, I might have fancy hair on Saturday too. If not, I just do a faux bang and clip my hair up with a scarf, or do a little pomp in front and tie it back :)

Hey, who wants to do a DIS meet? I see that Tom asked about that--is there one planned? If not, we could do some kind of informal meet-up if anyone's interested.

I see the GCH is in the works, and I am definitely up for that as well! It would be my first DIS meet, too!

I will be there. It's the last day of my conference, so I will look suspiciously like a weary conference attendee. :) But I'm super duper excited to experience this because it's something I never ever thought I'd get to see in person. So

Yay! Our meet is going to be fun. I'm not sure yet about time and place; we have a few details to iron out first. Any suggestions welcome!

I got some shoes at a thrift store for my dapper outfit. I'm wearing a cream-colored dress with red accents, so I really wanted red shoes. I couldn't find anything, though, so I bought some nice leather dapperish shoes for $1. I figured the beige color would look ok, but it kept bugging me that they weren't red (to go with my hat, belt, and sweater). I thought about dyeing them but I couldn't find anything locally for coloring leather and the cost of ordering some was sort of ruining the whole point of getting $1 shoes. So...I bought permanent red markers at the dollar store (it took 2) and put on 3 coats of color. I followed that up with a coating of furniture beeswax (which I already had) and voila! Red shoes!

wow! the red shoes look great! I thought that they were a different pair when you started to tell about the beige shoes. Didn't think red markers could work that well! Good job! :yay:

As you can see... the wife is running behind on her dress... she's done one or two hats for herself already though...
