Dapper Days in September - anyone else thinking of going?

That's still interesting, because the Super 8 where you had recently stayed is not on par with the GCH either.

I wouldn't ever take my family to the Super 8. I'm not above spending 4 hours sleeping there however. I'll do it again in fact.

Lol! :faint:

My friends and I are planning to be there again! We're staying at GCH. Not entirely sure what I'm going to wear; I'm waiting to see what the weather trend looks like. I have a few options I can go with, but I think I'll probably save my dis-bounding outfit for spring. It has way too many layers for what I anticipate the weather will require in Sept. Boo hoo!! I want to wear my Haunted Mansion leggings!

Those pics so cool! Wish they'd do one in winter so we could wear coats like those.

Dizme we'll just have to hop from 1 air-conditioned spot to another and we'll be fine all HM'd up! I'm dying to see that outfit in person.

Look us up when you are there...

:cool1: I like your thinking! Maybe we should carry along a flask of something chilled. You know, to go with the vintage look :rotfl2:

Indeed! :thumbsup2

Question. ...I will be at the park Sept. 13/14th. ..I know there is a Dapper event in the evening on the 12th. I really want to join in the fun but I didn't want to pull my DD out of school to be there on Friday. Will there be people in the park on Sat dressed up....or would I feel out of place being dapper that day?

I am making a quick weekend trip to DL, and I just discovered that Dapper Day will be happening that weekend :goodvibes It sounds like so much fun! It appears that there are still rooms available at the discount, so hopefully they won't sell out in the next few weeks before I am able to book.

Does anyone know how to get the discounted park tickets?

The wife crocheted and felted her dapper hat today.

Nice! What style? Did you say 50s? I've been going through my clothes and have a couple of possibilities; one is a rockabilly swing dress and one is a sort of 20s, Gatsby-esque dress. I'm not sure what I'm going for yet.

We are leaning towards late 50s early 60s.

I booked from 15th to the 19th because it looked like a low crowd week during the week. I had no idea this Dapper Dan thing was happening that weekend. It is also first weekend of Halloween decorations. Does anyone have any idea what these two events may do for the crowd traffic during that week?

Dapper Day is the 12th and the park is likely to be fairly crowded that day. I would guess you wouldn't have much trouble on the weekdays following.

Your wife is so clever!

As the PP mentioned, Dapper Day is on the 12th. Combined with the start of Halloween time, I'm expecting that weekend to be busy. However, I wouldn't expect it to affect the following week. I think you'll still have pretty low crowds on those week days :thumbsup2

We are going for Dapper Day! We had so much fun in February. My DS loves to dress up. This trip my niece will be joining us. We booked room at The Grand. Who can resist the rates?

I am hoping it isn't too hot! We are from the NW and prefer Disney Jan-March. Our August and September trips have been pretty hot in the past.

Wish I was going to this one in September. Just booked for February. Getting the DL Hotel at a discount is cool, but I'm really looking forward to hitting DL looking like they used to when the park just opened. Going in my Sunday Best!!!

We're all hoping the same thing! Dapper Day last Sept was VERY warm! I'm glad we took 2 outfits. One for day time and one for the evening. It felt good to go back to the room, cool off and change into fresh clothes. We were a hot mess by the end of the afternoon! The heat didn't dampen our spirits though. We still had a great time!
