QUestion, can you get a Dapper discount on rooms other than standard? For example if I wanted to get a PPH Concierge level room do they offer Dapper discounts on those?

To the best of my knowledge, no. For I have not seen those options available through the Dapper Day link for hotel reservations.

I thought of y'all Dapper Day'ers! Zullily is running a 50's remix event today. May be a good source for ya to find your threads!

i dress in 50s style clothing most days so i have tons of dresses but i wanted to do something speacial for disneyland and i bought my DH two new outfits from mens wearhouse and he cant out-dress me! lol .... so i am making my evening dress for dapper day and i am buying my daytime dress i have ben checking out shoes for my outfits and i came across some awesome options on amazon. they have a brand called poetic license and the shoes are amazing and look comfy as well and another brand called miz mooz they are also amazing the shoes are kinda pricey but if anyone is like me i think the shoes make or break the outfit. plus i have seen the same shoes on mod cloth and they are more expensive there then on amazon so thats a plus. I have also ben looking for some hats and i found that the best place for me to find hats and facinators is at a store called burlington i have 4 hats from there and they are cheaper than anywhere online. and one last thing, i found on ebay a vintage 60s sweater guard that is from disneyland it has tinkerbell on one side and the castle on the other i am so stoked to wear it! i hope this helps anyone looking for stuff

Thanks!!! I'll check it out!!! I still have a couple of unworn outfits that I got for the Feb. DD. Bummer that I couldn't go, but now I have something to wear in Sept. The only downside is that my disbounding outfit might be too hot for Sept so it could be that I'll go another route on that one. Oh, but I *really* want to wear my Haunted Mansion outfit!! The leggings are awesome--HM wallpaper print.

If the weather is too warm during the day, hopefully it will be cool enough from the early evening on so your awesome HM outfit can be worn then. It has been waiting since February after all, so make it happy! ;) :)

edit: typo :faint:

I think, officially, fall Dapper Days is an evening event because of the heat. (Can you have an official non-official event? LOL)

We will be there after work, and I'm really looking forward to it! :goodvibes

We are def doing an all day thing i like being able to change into a fancier outfit and change my hair and makeup for the evening i think everyone should make it an all day thing. I cant wait to see everyone's outfits and hair. It is kinda like when you have a restored car and you drive by another one you admire the other and wave! lol Lets all do it and make it an even better day i think we should all dress up all weekend if you ask me but thats only because i dress vintage all the time anyway, but i say the more the merrier ! whos with me?

I'm still working on being restored! Lol No, really man.
I do love vintage clothing and styles, but so much of it doesn't love me because I am not a size 2. :faint:
On that note, if I am called a certain word again in Spanish or English for that matter, I might just be inclined to knock their block off this time.

im not a size 2 either in fact im a size 18! im working on reducing that size before vacation so we will see. So i completely understand how you feel but i find my dresses on a site called lindy bop and they go up to 4x and they look amazing on you, i also make circle skirts they are super easy and flattering i have found that i look thinner in vintage style than in jeans and a t shirt you should check out that site they have them on amazon as well I just purchased a bunch of colored jeans on khols .com for 12 bucks each and i cut them into capris and i go to wallmart and buy a 4 dollar shirt and make a peter pan collar and there you go it doesnt have to cost a fortune. i love to do my hair in pinup as well its so fun my dh loves it too! i went on you tube and learned how to do victory rolls and all the other cool stuff they used to do with their hair and i get to put on fake lashes and red lipstick and it doesnt look like too much. i am so used to doing my hair and makeup now that it doesnt take much time at all. i get compliments all the time on how i look. it is a real confidence booster! you should go for it its so worth it!

Just booked my rooms... 2 nights Friday and Saturday... I could only get Paradise Pier this late, so I'll have a full review of that as part of the TR. We only stay at the Grand, so this will be a new experience for us.

I can't believe the Grand is booked, sounds like it will be a busy weekend.

Will your wife be making her dress again? She did a fantastic job on her last Dapper Day outfit!

We are planning the outfits now. She's been in MI for the past 2.5 weeks (to return in 1.5 more) with the girls so doing everything remote. We'll have to plan some lighter wear than last year... wool isn't the ticket for CA in the summer.

I recall your having stated that if you cannot stay at the GCH, then you will not go to DLR. So what changed your mind?

I'm now actually staying at the Grand for those two days. Cancelling my PP res as soon *** the booking hotline opens up. I stand by my original statement ;) Thank you for talking me off the ledge.

That's still interesting, because the Super 8 where you had recently stayed is not on par with the GCH either.
