Dapper Day hotel rates? As long as signed up for expo?

I have a question about booking Dapper Day hotel rates...I know the first night is non refundable, so I just want to make sure I get this right.

As long as we sign up for a day of the Expo, we can book the Dapper Day rates for our 4 night stay, right? We've never done DL or Dapper Day, so any regulars with advice, thanks!!

As far as I know, all you have to do is sign up (register) on the DD site to book a room. You don't have to go to the Expo but it's pretty cool. I believe it's $10 pp.

It is highly suggested to support DD by participating in the Expo. The tickets aren't expensive anyway, and, as the pp noted, it is a really fun event. DD's wants people who use their discount rates to participate in their events to prevent the rates from being abused.

Do Dapper Day! You can be Dapper however you want, it’s a ton of fun! (And be ready for a very crowded park day on Dapper Day itself.)

Is that something new? Our last Dapper Day was 2016 and we booked Dapper Day rooms by just calling the Disney Convention desk without actually registering on the website for the event . . just told them we were attending and wanted their rates

Both Gay Days and Dapper Days now ask that people using their discount rates also attend/participate in at least one convention event. There was a lot of abuse of the rates going on, and the organizers were losing a lot of money. Disney charges the organizers a very pretty penny to hold these conventions on site, so anything we can do to help (and DD Expo tickets really are inexpensive!) is greatly appreciated.

Can I call to have the expo tickets added at the same time I have my park tickets added? I was able to book the room before having expo tickets.

I'm not sure, but it's worth trying. I know that Expo tickets can be purchased at the DD website and at the door, too, if all else fails.
