Dangerous Sea Life at Castaway Cay?

I went to the doctor today to get my medical release signed for our cruise in less than 4 weeks (I'm pregnant). I asked the doctor about snorkeling at Castaway Cay or even just floating in a tube. She seemed to want to discourage this activity because of the possibility of stinging or other poisonous creatures lurking in the water. I want to be cautious and not endanger my baby but I would also like to float in the water at least. So, can anyone tell me what creatures are lurking out there that may be dangerous?

Jelly fish and sea lice (baby jellies) are the biggest stinging worries. Personally, I haven't had any problems with them, although I did get bit up badly by sand fleas on shore one day. It was after a rain, and I was sitting in a low lounger. By the time they were done, my legs were full of welts. I combat that by using sun screen with bug repellant in it. Sea life are seasonal; you can purchase a product to repel them online.

The family beach has shark nets up so usually nothing will get in that area. From what I understand the adult beach does not have these.

We went snorkeling on CC in June and saw nothing in the lagoon that could sting or was dangerous other than some rays who were cruising along the bottom of the area. They do have the shark nets.

If you go snorkeling, go first thing because the water gets murky in the afternoon and you are not able to see as much. We went in the morning and water was clear, and went back in the afternoon, and you could not even see the old 20,000 Leagues Submarine even though we were only about 10 feet from it.
