I don't like it. The lighting & sets back then were more Broadway. Now, it's like cheap, splashy Las Vegas acts.![]()
We still haven't gotten THIS low yet:

Kewz...you're HERE? Dang..I should have known with Rossy..lol.I'm a lurker on this thread but I wanted to pop in and wish you good luck! Sounds like an exciting opportunity for you!
I agree but keep in mind the more traditional song choices then too...trying to match certain dances to the songs they get now is baffling to me, and I'm kind of Team Len with all the stage props and razzmataz..I get the whole strategy but it really does take away from the actual dance. On the flip side, if you remove the competition part I'd enjoy all that stuff every time probably, lol. Thanks for that clip of all of Donny's dances. It showed he was a great dancer! One only has to look at the first 3 dances to see his footwork was incredibly sharp, clean and tight.
(Kym didn't have to dumb down her footwork to match his. Her choreography was intricate & superb.) He had a great stage presence & personality and could act different characters & moods for each dance. So, yes, he won the audience with his performances.
He actually danced better than David or Rashad dance now. Yep, I had voted for the right person.
And I love the older seasons better, when it was "classic DWTS" where they actually danced the actual styles & roots of the dances. An Argentine tango was an actual Argentine tango. A Charleston was a Charleston and a jitterbug was a jitterbug. None of this dancing a tango steps to Cars 2, when it has nothing to do with or resembles the actual style or mood or energy of a real tango.![]()
And they had a better lighting designer back then. None of those stupid, gimmicky laser lights flashing right into our eyes & blinding us or hiding the stars' dances.

She was held to a higher standard than all the other contestants. Their comments to her were often very mean spirited, particularly from Carrie Ann.
There's going to be a spin off in the spring. Dancing with the stars juniors....
I didn't find the lemon thing to be insulting or humiliating and I think fans sending him lemon wedges was very funny. The shocked faces of the judges. Yeah, THAT was insulting. You know, the more I think about it, the more I want Rossy to win based on Julieanne's lemon lesson. I doubt ANY other contestant would have allowed that to be filmed and show on national t.v.~Rossy posted on twitter a pic of a plate of lemons that a DWTS fan sent to him at dinner last night, laughing along with it. Can you imagine? I think it was a useful method but did not need to be shown. They were literally humiliating him in my eyes. I've seen Normani's back end stick out, do you think they would have shown her practicing "holding her lemon?" Then the looks of shock on their faces (as if they didn't know the results) but to insult David further. I am probably the only one's who feels this way but I think it was 2 classless moves done to a very classy guy.
“My heart hurts a little bit to see Simone go. I’m shocked,” Ross told reporters. “I didn’t feel like I could celebrate onstage because I honestly felt bad. I feel like I’m taking her spot. I don’t know if I should feel that way or not, but I do. This is a family. We’re friends. It’s hard to see anybody go.”
The judges are the reason Simone is going home. They pick apart her every facial expression all the while telling us how entertaining David is. I for one am sick of not having the best dancers in the finale. Last week she was over criticized and she stood up for herself and now she gets called smug. I kept thinking back to Bristol Palin, who couldn't dance and never showed a real connection to any of the dances and the judges were much kinder to her.

Class act all the way..., but I still don't think they would have done that to any of the other contestants if their bums were out.I didn't find the lemon thing to be insulting or humiliating and I think fans sending him lemon wedges was very funny. In an interview today he said:
Here is a video from right after the show: https://www.accesshollywood.com/vid...dorably-shocked-over-making-it-to-the-finals/ .
Welcome.Come out of lurk-mode and join us. Especially for the Finale.

Rockette, I think they did that THIS season. Louis was criticizing one of the pros for that, was it Lindsay maybe?
Good luck to you! We'd love to see a few photos!
It's been a long time since I've watched the entire finale show. I usually watch the last couple of minutes to see who won. With only an hour on Monday, I imagine that will be the last time for votes unless they dance a final time during the two hour finale show on Tuesday and the judges give final points before announcing who wins. I think that has been done before but I'm not sure.I don't think so. I usually only tune into to the last 15 minutes on the Tues nite finale. Most of the show is rehashing what happened all season and we see the former contestants again. I *think" all the voting is already done at that point.
But, mandy200587 or Dancind or Kirby have more info than I do and I may have been wrong all this time.
If you are talking about Heather, then I agree with you.The best dancer was eliminated a few weeks ago... I myself like to see the best dancer win, but that is not going to happen this season.
I think the producers wanted to get "Forever Young" into the rotation before Rossy was voted off. That was his "walk off song" that was played every time he came up to bat. ETA: even so, that makes another really hard song for him to dance to.Oh you were right about that this season. It was Rossy's dance too! I remember catching this one on YouTube after. The song is better suited for a Cha Cha...
Waltz is not done to 4/4 or 2/4. Ever.
Dancing starts at 2:13.
