Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2025

next week all votes are for Robert. I just don’t know if he can beat the army of youngsters (that’s anyone under 30 to me) who vote for Alix. I think it will come down to those two.

Yeah - I've been giving Robert 10 text and 10 online, Andy 10 text and 10 online, Elaine and Dylan each 5 text and 5 online, and Jordan and Alix 2 text and 2 online. Just to give everyone but Whitney votes.

But from here on out it's Robert only.

Most of these singing or dance competition shows tend to come down to the demographics of the viewers and the popularity of the contestants. The judges critique the dances based on various technical aspects which likely most of us aren't even familiar with (i.e. did they keep their shoulders square or always had one foot on the floor type of things). Nothing wrong with that, but the winner may be more about popularity (or their back-story) and less about their proficiency as a dancer.

Blake Shelton started a new country singing competition and each week they perform at various bars around the country. The audience who can vote are people there in person who came to see a Keith Urban concert, so clearly the contestants they find most appealing have tended with have something in common with K. Urban.

I hope they had an interview booth there where the stars were able to hop in and do quick interviews of how being on the show and dancing affected or changed some of their lives, (or didn't,) in the years since.

Derek was on GMA 3 (In the Afternoon,) today. He talked about choreographing the first number and doing an homage to to Tom & Len. I still love the way Tom came out at the end of the number. 🥰 Derek said he talked to Tom after the show and he said, it felt so healing having Tom back.

I agree. When the show brought in that new executive producer/showrunner for a couple seasons, who was more into shock value and changing the show to reach different demographics, he did Tom dirty by firing him the way he did, replacing him with a retired fashion model who strutted ugly outfits that didn't fit her and had nothing to do with dancing.

Derek putting Julianne front and center during the opening number, showing a host who can dance, and having Tom walk out at the end, the family glue for so many of us who watched so many seasons, was so fitting.

I did see because he's a child, but that's another story, Bobby has apparently turned his mirrorball back into abc
