I think his only having one day to rehearse really bit him in the butt. The fans (and the producers(?)) really want people who are committed to the show. Other past contestants always had other commitments, whether away games, concerts, Derek traveled back & forth between NYC & L.A. for shows on both coasts, even Laurie met the POTUS this week, but Vanilla Ice could only give up one day for rehearsing this show?

I'm bummed about Vanilla Ice. It seems that the dancers who bring the most joy to the dance floor are voted out and truly vanilla personalities like Jana remain on the show. Ugh.

Next week I would like to eliminate all but James, Laurie, Calvin and Terra please. I can't remember any of the other's dances anyway but I find myself re-watching those 4~'nuff said, we have our semi-finalists lol

Just watched a bit of a backstage interview. Vanilla said he's relieved. Too much stress I guess. Was he the one who had no idea what the show entailed?

Lots of flack toward Derek for being the first to rush out and congratulate Emma and Sasha. They are best buds, seems very appropriate to me. People are mean on the internet.

I didn't even know that they were a couple! I'm so out of the loop! When I saw Sasha kiss her at the end of the dance I was like that was pretty friendly and then he proposed. I was just sitting there with my jaw dropped.

I'm nor surprised he's relieved after last week's schedule. He wasn't a final four kind of dancer anyway.

Emma And Sasha have been together for five years! With a break that ended about the time Alec started crushing on her. Ha. We met Emma on a cruise, very sweet person. Kym too. So I've followed her for a while on Instagram, which led to following Sasha. It's very cute, when Derek and Emma are traveling, Sasha and Hayley hang out. The two of them seem to have a brother/sister relationship.

Ok, enough stalking talk.

I would like to see Maureen go home.
Not because I don't like her. I do.
Not because she doesn't have potential, but because she is always just so 'pained' with stress and insecurity.
IMHO, this means that she is not connecting with viewers, which will be a big factor.
That surprised me, because she was 'Marsha', the confident and cool and collected teen!!!!

I noticed that when Sasha proposed (which was totally scripted and mentioned in the media beforehand) and all of the dancers rushed out to congratulate them, Maureen struggled, socially, with being patient and waiting her turn to get in there. I noticed at one point that she was trying to break in, from behind, and looked stressed as if she felt that she was expected to get in there, right during the scene, and she wasn't able to do so.

I think Maureen has a Resting Stress Face. She can't help it. Slightly different from Resting Bench Face (Good Place reference).

Kirby, during the beginning of the rehearsal clips, they had shown a clip where, when Amber was dancing last week, that Julianne said to Bruno that she was feeling really uncomfortable watching Amber shaking her booty and being very sexy during her salsa. It could have been because of Amber's sexual ambiguity or that she's just got a big booty to shake.

Amber naturally was upset about that and said something to Maks, backstage, which of course, they had to show that clip too. A reminder to always watch what one says over an open mic.

After Amber finished her dance, SHE apologized to Julianne.

I didn't think that was correct. Julianne was the snide one about Amber. And the SHOW owed BOTH of them an apology for airing private conversations.

But, Amber is the one getting scores, so she had to be the one doing the apologizing.

I didn't even know who Amber was before I saw her on this show, so I have no vested interest in her or anything, but I really think that Julianne owes her a proper apology. She should not have said that about Amber while she is out there on the floor trying to dance. Totally unprofessional. I didn't even think that Amber was that sexy or anything during that "salsa". The dance was awful, IMO, and didn't look like a salsa, but that wasn't her fault. Makes me think of when Len commented on Chaz Bono's weight/appearance. Just totally unprofessional. Critique the dancing and not the individual. Every single person this season has done a far better job than I would ever do. Props to them.

Also think they are being extra hard on Maureen. I'm disappointed in Marillu, I thought she'd do much better.
