Dancing with the Stars--Cast Revealed

Macy Gray looked out of it on the first episode too. Wasn't she the first one eliminated, not Ashley Hamilton? Maybe he was more willing to do the goofy routine with Edyta & the other guy from the "loser's club".

Yes, Macy was the first one booted off. She looked quite relieved to go. I bet she didn't realize it was going to be so much work. Ballroom dancing probably just wasn't her sort of thing.

Hey! Donny's on Good Morning America right NOW!

I didn't think Whitney looked high, She looked more lost. It was like she didn't know the words and had no breath control at all.. almost like she was sick...(not virus sick, more like deathly ill.. like cancer sick...)

Macy and Ashley were both eliminated the first week.

Shoot! I missed it. I guess I can turn my TV off now.

They just announced Donny's going to be on The View also.

I'm so happy that Donny won!!! Just goes to show nice guys don't always have to finish last:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

When I watched Natalie and Alex dance last night I thought she sure got robbed she was so great.

Do you ever think they will do a All-stars dancing with the stars?

I think Kelly has done wonders for her career. I also thought it was so sweet that she meant that much to Louie. It was a great season for both of them.

I agreebout Whitney and the she looked high part. I swear. Her performance was terrible!

It's like she talks through the song instead of singing. It was quite strange.

Bleh. Mya was robbed. Donny Osmond creeps me out.

I thought the lyric was inapproiate for a family show as well. My only hope is that at 10pm on a school night the kids are in bed already - unfortunately utube is available 24 hrs/day

I don't think that most kids have school the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Dancing with the Stars is a family show.

Yeah! Go DONNY!

I'm not unhappy with a Donny win but I really think Mya shoud have won. She was overall the better of the two during the season. But Natalie was my favorite and hated to see her get voted off.

My kids have school today.
DS's algebra teacher is even giving a major test that can only be made up for 1/2 credit for anyone who misses class for anything other than medical reasons today. (must have a Dr's note to prove medical) DS is in middle school, but is receiving high school credit for this class. I think it really stinks! But that's a whole different thread. ;)

Pretty impressive that Donny kept up with all the youngsters at 51 years old too. I'm happy with the results and I think he deserved it.

The GMA segment is just starting here. Off to watch it now.

I agree with everyone about Whitney. So sad!! She was one of my favorites. My DH knows much more about music so I asked him what was going on. He thought she couldn't get her breath right.

I am amazed how much I came to like Kelly. I only watched her family's show once, and it was definitely not for me. But, I really enjoyed watching her dance the last three-four weeks. Her mom looked so proud which I loved.

I voted for Donny so I am happy for the outcome. He is still not my favorite winner of all time, but I am glad he won. I do think it is awesome based on his age too.

What state do you live in? I am in the Washington/Maryland/Virginia area and most of our schools are closed.

It was interesting watching the final 3 doing their dances on the tiny floor GMA provided. I'm sure they've been focused on going big and filling the floor all these weeks, bringing it down to that tiny scale had to be a challenge.

Watching Donny in unscripted situations is always interesting too. He reminds me of my bfriend's DD; she has severe ADHD and doesn't always (OK, hardly ever) edit well. I get the feeling that editing is sometimes an issue with Donny as well. Case in point: Bruno kiss :rotfl: He interrupted the chef spot on GMA, but overall nice DWTS segment.

Donny does struggle in social situations. He mentioned in his autobiography that he has a social anxiety disorder, that prevented him from being able to perform live for many years. At the time he stated that he still struggles and "freezes up" in many social situations.

Interesting. It must have been difficult being thrust into the "star" position at age 6, and essentially moving older brother, Merrill out of the lead singing position in the Osmond Brothers. Then having so many young girls pin their hopes & dreams onto some imposed image they had of him must have been suffocating.

Also, being on the Donny & Marie show, forced to promote those super syruppy, corny images didn't help. He often played the butt of Marie's jokes. Donny had said back then that there goes his chance to have a serious singing career as a rock singer.

(David Cassidy, said he had the same problem. He began to hate the stick-sweet Partridge Family image. He would play hard rock on the guitar in between takes, then be forced to be "Keith" on the show and in concerts.")

I noticed on DWTS, they would try to push the corny stuff whenever they could, especially with the costumes. :sad2: You didn't see Derek dressed up all corny. He probably said, You can do it once this season, otherwise, I'm not wearing that." :p

Yep, Whitney had to have been high. She's just destroyed herself. Sad.

I'm ok with Donny winning; I would have been ok with Kelly too. I just don't like to even watch Mya. She was the best dancer but she has 'fake personality' as far as I'm concerned. She AND her dance partner are just creepy and didn't seem to like each other either. I liked the dynamic between Kelly and Louie as well as Donny and his partner. I thought it was cute that Donny ran over and carried his wife into the arena with him. He's a good husband!!
