Happy Wednesday-Friday to all of you who have to work today but then have a long weekend!! I'm ready. Work's been challenging this week (atmosphere-wise, not in what I actually do). Ready for a break!

It's POURING here...... SadieDog are you getting any snow/mix, or just rain?? This is one huge system. Stinks for all those hitting the road today to travel.

So to everyone in the States, Happy Thanksgiving, and to PiO, Roll on Christmas!!

I have a lot to be thanksful for... right???? I need to keep telling myself that...


I feel like we've gotten slammed with such bad luck...but, we have our health and family, and jobs, + a decent place to live... (knock on wood)... the bad news... my transmission went on my car, so it's at the stage, where, it's not that old, so maybe we should fix it.. or..is it at the point where we shouldn't throw money at an old car.??? we know it's going to be a LOT of cash to fix... both of our laptops crashed, and I miss my mom... we always did the big black friday marathon shopping day...

2013 has not been a good year for many people. Roll on 2014.

Sorry about the car and laptops. If it were me and it made financial sense, I'd be looking for a new car.

You know, we have a lot wild turkeys around here, and I found out recently that there is only a one week hunting season on them...... Which would explain why you nearly hit one attempting to cross the road (which in itself is amusing, as they are easily panicked and confused) any time you go out!! Sheesh....time to up the ante, they are not endangered in any way!!!

I'm back! The cruise was great. There were a few rough spots but overall great. I will post more once I get to a laptop because I'm too lazy to try it on my phone.

Yes, we had a mix and wow was it windy for a few days.

Hey PiO!! Really envious of your climate right about now..... we got into the single digits (*F) last night and had ice on the roads the night before.



But, it's Monday of Thanksgiving week and I'm excited! No school for the kids this week and I only work 3 days. Wednesday night I'm making three different batches of brownies to bring for dessert on Thursday. Friday DH and I are actually venturing out (Black Friday, PiO.....CRAZY shopping day here!). We're going regular-early as opposed to stupid-early, which will be like 7am or thereabouts. I don't need a lot and I'm not out for any of the must-have's that people go nuts for. And we'll have breakfast and make a morning of it, so that'll be fun.

Woke up to snow and a 2 hour school delay. I don't have kids in school anymore, but it still affects me with the kids I take care of. I will be going a little later this morning, after the road is sanded.

You know, I really did!! Turns out the crowds/madness all occurred the night before (I have a real problem with places being open on Thanksgiving, but hey, I wasn't the one out there giving them my business!). At 7-8am on Friday, NONE of the stores we went to had ANY sort of wait or line!!! Crazy. I got some really good deals, too. [disclaimer: we didn't go anywhere NEAR the mall!!! That may have been nuts, but I hate going there even when it's not Black Friday....]
