kimmar.... good to see an update. Been thinking about you.

Mean Queen .... with all of your Disney adventures its hard to see you as inactive. :goodvibes

...
Smiley - It sounds like a shin splint, but I'm so inactive, I'm not an expert. Maybe Amanda or TK know, since they are runners?

And I'm what, invisible? :confused3 I ran 2.5 miles today I'll have you know!! :snooty:

:rotfl:

Ok, seriously. I've never actually had shin splints but my DH has and what Smiley described may be just that.

I would really like to know what the French toast is up with the weather these days. Last year, we had a Halloween weekend snowstorm. This year, apparently, we've got a hurricane a-comin'. Batten down the hatches, ma! There's a storm brewin'!! At the very least we'll be getting a "wind event." But right now it sure looks like a whole lotta rain. So much for trick-or-treating. :sad2: Rats.

.

Smiley, the best thing you can do for that pain is ice it. It sounds like either shin splint or tendonitis depending on where it is. But ice and Advil for pain will help. Also so some stretches before going out. Hope it gets better.

Sorry, just missed your name.

Mean Queen -- do you have a favorite color/theme/something you like besides Disney?! Just wonderin'.....:rolleyes1

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Hope y'all have a good one! I'm sure I'll check in later on, but after tonight I may be MIA for a couple of days.

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice on the leg pain. :thumbsup2

LegoMom.... I hope this storm isn't to much of a rain event.

Don't you just hate it when you have a long post going and you lose it! :(

I was trying to tell ya'll about this place......

It is so beautiful!!! These pictures do not do the resort justice. And across the street is the largest Christmas Shop in the south. We have been here twice in the last month. We have been on the hunt for the perfect lodge for our son to be married in. They wanted a mountain wedding with just their closest friends and family in attendance. So we have had to find a place that fits several requirements. One being the 32 guest and the ceremony. Then the two families decided we wanted to stay together. ::yes:: So we need a place to comfortably sleep 22. The first place we toured 3 weeks ago was 11,000 sq. ft. but a lot of smaller rooms and very choppy. The one we just toured this week is only 8,000 but very open. And the views are INCREDIBLE!! If you are interested in seeing it google the Wilderness Lodge in Gatlinburg.( If you check it out....we are hoping for great weather so the ceremony can take place outside on that grand staircase. ) Yeah the Wilderness Lodge!!! Our favorite place in Disney. It doesn't get any better than that!! There is also a Wilderness resort with a water parki in it in or around Gatlinburg as well. We have fallen in love with the mountains and all there is to do and see. It feels like home there. Guess I'm a mountain girl at heart. :goodvibes
Well, just wanted to share a bit of what we have been up to lately.

I'm a right-y. On to my WEDway happy place.

Oh you KNOW I have PeopleMover love. I just take the "scenic" route to get there ;)

...this past summer he was in S.C. at his DD's softball tournament and they were spending the day on the beach. As a diabetic, he's lost most feeling in his feet. Well, he spent too much time standing on the hot sand and got a 2nd degree burn on the bottom of his foot. In and out of the hospital twice for the infection that ensued left him to be treated at home 3 days a week with a skin graft after most of the bottom of his foot was cut out. One of the idiot nurses visited and, [I'm assuming] by accident removed the skin graft, but never bothered to tell my brother! To make it worse, his insurance ran out, so the visiting nurses stopped coming, all the while giving him the runaround. By the time he went to the doctor's office, the doctor wanted to know what had happened to the skin graft - of course, my brother had no idea. The infection spread into his bones, so they had no choice but to amputate his foot.....

:faint:

But seriously - oh my goodness! I hope things are on the up and up for him. Lots of hugs and warm wishes coming your way. :goodvibes

I agree with LegoMomma. I used to get shin splints when I played soccer as a kid. Had to get special insoles for my cleats. Haven't had them as an adult...yet (fingers crossed they stay gone).

Amanda is sooooo right on the stretching. Gentle stretching before you start your running around and after you get home should hopefully make a positive difference.

what the French toast

MUST use this at least once today!

That's all I have to say today, I think. I have my uber cranky pants on. I don't want them to rub off on anyone. :headache:

Besides Disney? There are other things out there besides Disney? I guess I also like Starbucks, purple, reading, and cats.

I decided to embrace my inner Mean Queen and go for it this Halloween... I bought a Queen of Hearts costume. I have a party on Saturday night and we like to dress up while the kids trick or treat. I also got a white tutu for the costume that can be used for my Color Run outfit. :thumbsup2 Anyone else dressing up?

Are they in Pajamas?!.....:rotfl:

....thanks for all your prayers and well-wishes....he's in surprisingly good spriits and they said that his sugar has gone down, which, I'm thinking is a good thing...:confused3

Did you say you want 1 'house' that sleeps 22? The place would have to be huge. I love mountain areas too. Mountains with a lake/pond/stream..... :cloud9:

It is a big place. But very warm and well just.... perfect for what we need. :goodvibes

I have to agree with you on the combination of mountains and water. I just don't think it gets any better than that.

It's getting windier and darker here. Smileybug, you are closer to the coast than I am. I hope ya'll are okay.

If we have bad weather because we live so far out in the middle of nowhere, we could be without power for a while. Last bad hurricane like storm, it was 2 weeks.

That's great you were able to find a place for all of you.

That would not be good at all.
