I just realized I only have 8 more days!!! I feel a little guilty not taking my kids, but it's going to be so much fun eating and drinking around the world without them!! So now I'm dancing the single digit dance!! Come and join me!!

I cannot believe we are going alone without the kids, and I know how you feel. This will be our first adult only trip since 1991. I'm a bit nervous and sad and excited all at the same time.

Our kids are 16 and 12 and I know both of them aren't too happy about us leaving them . . .My mom will be living at our house so it'll be a huge adustment livin with grandma . . .I've already made a reminder list for the kids on what they need to do daily . . . .

I'll probably cry a bit . . .but I am really really happy to be going!

Wish Upon A Star, you'll have a great time! DH and I went last year for the 1st time alone and had such a good time (almost more fun than we have with the kids!! ) we've decided to make the food and wine fest an annual event for mom and dad only!! It'a different experience without the kids, you can take your time and enjoy things you might not have ever noticed before!! Enjoy yourselves and have a great anniversary!!

Thank you so very much! We are hours away now . . .OMG! DD 16 and DS 12 are still sleeping . . .I wish they'd wake up soon so I can spend a couple hours with them . . .geeze . . .

We are now 6 days away and I can hardly contain my excitement!! I am nearly packed, spent yesterday on that task. Now I just need to be productive at work this week. I have a ton to do, and I have no interest in doing it.

I'm joining in too--4 days for us!! Actually, the "vacation" starts Thursday night, so really it is more like 3 days.

Shhh...don't tell anyone...

DH's birthday is Friday. A long time ago, concert tickets for 2 bands that he loves (Weezer and Foo Fighters) went on sale. I tried to get them through the internet presale, but anything worth buying was sold out. He was disappointed. Well, I sat there at 10:00 am waiting for the regular ticket sale, and guess what--decent tickets popped up!

So, he doesn't know it yet, but Thursday night, we are going to the concert (2 miles from the airport, thank god) and staying the night at the Marriott that is attached to the airport. The tickets are wrapped up in a box with a Weezer t-shirt. The T-shirt is a replica of an old t-shirt he had that got ruined.

Whew...I had to tell someone. This secret is killing me! I've kept it for almost 2 months, and I NEVER KEEP SECRETS FROM HIM THIS LONG! He always finds a way to make me spill the beans beforehand. Nope, not this time!
