Dance Moms

I believe all the drama is staged. Who would move across the country to Pittsburgh or Ohio for a dance studio? These people must be paid very well to allow the show to make them look like idiots. Yes, some of the kids are great dancers and might make it to Broadway or Vegas some day. But how often do dancers become famous and have long careers? Their opportunities are limited and short lived. If dancing is their love, they should realize the limits they are putting on themselves. Education should be their priority.

Our dance studio have girls going to intensive dance programs all over the US. I do not think it is uncommon to move when you are given a TV show. That is what I think of the show a drama not reality show.

I never said a dancer has to live in LA or NYC to be good. There are great teachers in many places. These kids are, for the most part, great. But the parents are making fools of themselves with their jealous actions. Abby is right, she trained the majority of her group. Cathy trained none of hers. It is all drama, not reality IMO.

And Vivie is a waste of screen time. She is dull and has no talent. Leave the poor child alone so she can do what interests her and not what her mother wants.
I feel so bad for Vivi-Anne. A couple of seasons ago she told Cathy that she didn't want to dance, she just wanted to play soccer or something like that. And the way that Cathy dresses her is awful, she dresses her up like a doll with those fancy dresses and bows in her hair. I have a feeling Vivi-Anne would be happier with her hair in a pony tail wearing jeans or yoga pants.

The scene about them cataloging her bunnies was ridiculous. I can't believe how many bunnies she had in her house.

Does anyone else find Asia's dancing highly disturbing? I have seen Youtube videos of her and her "dancing" is just shameful. There is no doubt that the kid is talented and gifted but her mother is training her up to be nothing but a pole dancer. I don't even want to see where she will be, developmentally, in 5 years.

I agree alot of the drama is staged. But a couple episodes ago when Christi and Kelly were in the dressing room after a competition and Kelly was saying she was done with the friendship, there were red blotches all over Christi's neck and chest and she really looked upset. I dont think that was staged.

I believe a lot of what goes on is staged in the sense that it is set up to bring out the negative side of their personalities. The conflict with Kristi and Kelly just exploded and in a genuine way, feelings really did get hurt and they each are standing firm in what they think the other did wrong.

With the episode regarding the cancer ribbon, I think that Abby totally overstepped her role as a teacher and went into an area of what sadly does affect nearly every family but she did not need to be the person who taught the kids that lesson, kwim? I know many people who shield their kids from knowing about such deeply upsetting subjects like that until the time is right for them to tell their own children about it.

I read an article a few weeks ago where is seems that Abby is stuck with the cast the way it is due to their contracts with Lifetime and she is not happy about it.
