Thank you so much for joining in!!! When is your daughter going to dance at Disney?

We will be there in February of 2014...over presidents weekend.

CONGRATS!!!! A new job is such an exciting thing.

The rainbow loom...ahhhhh even my middle school students are obsessed.

My daughter goes on Youtube too!! She even overheated the laptop one night because she had it on her bed and was watching videos and making bracelets! Why can't we think of these things? We would never have to worry about money for Disney again LOL.

I know!!!!:-)

I have news!!!! I just got a new job! For the past year and a half I have worked as a bank teller. I love the job, I LOVE the ladies I work with. They have become my family. But when I was hired I was getting 37 hours a week, which was good for me. I got a half day every week, it was perfect. Then I was changed to 32 hours....I could live with that and then I was cut to 29 hours which made my paycheck so small, I was just able to pay my little bills, dance tuition and save money for Disney. So I started to look for jobs and I applied to the county for a secretary position. I interviewed last week and got the call today that I was hired! It is full time and the pay is more! I'm very excited but so scared. I really love where I work but just have to keep thinking, more money = more Disney!!!

Congrats! :-)

Thank you everyone! Sorry I didn't post this week. I have been so busy! My last day at the bank was on Wed and then I started my new job on Thursday. It is a lot of work, very different than being a teller but hopefully I will get the hang of it. The pay is pretty good and all the days off and vacation I get are worth it!

I haven't even done much Disney planning this week:furious: Our computer was on the fritz so my husband took it with him to work for his friend to clean up...that was Monday, still no computer. I have to use my husband's work laptop which he hogs most nights. I am going to save money and buy myself a little laptop I think.

So last night my daughter's dance company held a cancer benefit at a local restaurant called Desaki. If you have ever been to the Pocono's it's a pretty known place. The 3 groups and another group from a different company performed, it was very nice. Here are some pictures. You can't really see Natalie b/c these are from my phone. I meant to bring my camera but Nat's bus was late yesterday mornining so I was running late and forgot.

Over the holiday weekend we went to visit my sister in law and brother in law upstate New York. They are stationed at Ft. Drum in Watertown. It was a very nice weekend seeing the family. We visited Boldt Castle on Heart Island in Alexandria Bay which is pretty close to Canada. There was a separate dock for Canadian boats. The castle was so amazingly beautiful. I didn't know anything about the Boldt family so here is a quick history lesson. George Boldt made his money in hotels. He had a bunch in Philadelphia and he ran the original Walfdorf Astoria hotel in Manhatten (which was at the site of the Empire State Building). I'm not sure if he owned it b/c I think John Astor owned it but maybe they were partners. Anyway, George loved his wife so much he purchased Hart Island and built a castle on it for his beloved wife. He even payed to have the island made into a heart shape. He changed the spelling too. Before the castle was completed though his wife died. He completely stopped all work on the castle and never stepped foot there again. Years later the castle was vandalized but now they are restoring it to what it would have looked like completed. And it is stunning.

Love the dance fundraiser photos and looks like you are already enjoying the new job

Thanks! I do like the job, it's just a lot of stuff to remember. If I remember the steps to everything I will be ok, I hope!

The fundraiser was really fun. Our next performance isn't until December where the girls are putting on a Christmas Coffee House. Should be fun.

This weekend's fundraiser was a Halloween party! I honestly wasn't sure how it would turn out but it really was fun! The girls raised $800 which will be divided up among the company members and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I attend every planning meeting, donated supplies, set up and worked the event but even if I didn't help or even show up, we all get the same amount. But the moms who went to the flea market to sell things make 90% of the profit. I don't think I really like how things are being dealt with here but I'm not one to the stir the pot, I would rather complain here LOL.

Here is a picture from the party! Keepin it Disney!
The Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat and Queen of Hearts!

I just realized I didn't update our day 2!

Day 2 will be Friday the 20th. This is the day all the dancers are supposed to arrive. I am not sure if the teacher is going to want to meet at night so I'm not sure what we will do today. If we go to a park it will be Magic Kingdom. If that's the case I will make very early breakfast ADR's at...

Another family tradition, we go to Crystal Palace on our first MK morning every year. I can't wait for breakfast lasagna!

If we don't go to the park, we may even take a ride to Clearwater and see Winter, Hope and Nicholas!

Good news! My vacation was approved at work! I was worried that I may have a problem but luckily my boss was all good with it!

We had another fundraiser this weekend. We stood outside Walmart with coffee cans and begged for money. this is not my favorite fundraiser but we didn't do badly. It was freezing though and now I have a cold. Not fun. I don't have sick time yet at my new job so I have to suffer through it.

So excited for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills tonight! I'm not so sure of the new ladies though. I was hoping Taylor would be on, I was curious to see how her life was going, hopefully for the better.

Our next meal that I have planned is dinner at Cape May Cafe!

We LOVE this restaurant! The food is so good!! I am hoping my dad will join us this night because I know he would just love it!

I hate being so far away from vacation. There usually isn't much to report this far out in the planning. On the other hand I like that we are months away because the anticipation is half the fun! But I do have some news....my husband and I were talking tonight about me and Nat driving down and he said he was really worried. He's afraid of the car breaking down and just overall nervous because it's just the two of us. So I decided to check out the autotrain and DH said he would pay for it if we took it down! So now I don't have to drive all the way, just to VA! It will be the value seats so I am sure my princess will complain about not having a bed LOL but I think we will manage. Has anyone ever taken the auto train?

I'm following now! Can't wait to hear more about your planning since our trips overlap! I want to take wager on how many photos will be taken in not ackward to us but looks crazy to everyone else dance pose photos..... I know my daughter will do a bunch!

Thanks for following! I can't wait to see my daughter perform! I know what you mean about the photos! And I love to take pictures!

I finally had a weekend that I we had nothing to do! It felt so good! I caught up on my tv shows (Nashville, Beverly Hills Housewives, Sleepy Hollow, Falling Skies). I even cleaned the house and did some laundry. While I would never tell my husband this, I really enjoyed cleaning today LOL. So now that I have a few minutes to sit down, I started to sit and really read about the June crowds....and now I'm very nervous. I keep telling myself that we were there Spring break and Easter week, the crowds were crazy and we handled it. I should be able to handle this too right? It's only 2 of us, we should be able to maneuver the park easier I'm hoping but all this pep talk isn't helping me. I'm still scared. Anyone else going in the summer and nervous about crowds?

I totally agree. We went in feb last time. I'm terrified. Darn June bday for my dd!

I'm away for work this week. I'm really enjoying myself! The hotel is a Homewood Suites and is super nice! I'm all alone and loving the time to myself but I do miss my kiddos. With all thos excitement though I forgot this morning was my 7 month window to swotch resorts! I went to Wegmans and then to Target and then it hit me! I raced back to the hotel and called Disney and got......the Beachclub!!! I'm so excited! Then while holding I realized I will have Flag day off and if they give us Monday the 16th off I can leave that weekend and spend more time at Disney!!!!

I was really hoping it would have been late August. I know not everyone is like me and will take the kids out of school for vacation but it's Disney, the crowds and heat are going to be terrible! But I understand why June was chosen...I guess. If we just get a few rides in, go swimming, just take in the sights it will be ok. This won't be our last trip.....but I don't work this way. I look at Disney as a game and I need to ride all the rides I want to win!! I need to follow my itinerary and if I go off of it I am not a happy camper LOL. If I don't get all the ADR's I want I am mad LOL. I know I have to relax, it's Disney, it's going to be great no matter what.

Ladies, I am feeling so overwhelmed with my new job. I really feel like crying. I was away at training last week and today was my first day back in the office. I guess I made a few mistakes last week and I just can't believe I did them. It was nothing major but I am really disappointed in myself. I am not catching on to this job as fast as I did my previous one. I really feel like going back to the bank and asking if I can have my old job back. While I make more money where I am now, I'm not sure if it's worth it anymore. I keep telling myself to stick it out, it's a lot to learn. I just don't know. I really wish I didn't have to work. Soon my extra money will be kicking in( get extra b/c I don't take their insurance) maybe that will make me feel better. I'm so sad.

Keep your chin up. This is a crazy time of year. Starting a new job takes a lot and you will get it. Think of the pros/cons and remind yourself why you took it in the first place.

The fundraising looks to be going well (so agree about the splitting money thing in some cases and not the others...odd way to do it)

Crowds will be heavy BUT you will be in Disney. You will manage and make it work

Deep breathes, enjoy Thanksgiving and one day at a time.

Thank you. These past 2 days I think were better. Just keeping my eye on the prize, better pay and no weekends LOL.

Our fundraising isn't doing so great. We don't have much planned for the rest of the season. I think each girl may have raised as a group $30 each. Individually, each girl could see candy bars. I usually don't do that b/c you have to pay for the box upfront and we never make back what we put in. I am just going to keep saving and saving.

Do you know what dances your daughter is doing? I am not sure which dances our dance director picked. All the groups do one dance together usually so I think that will be the finale of the performance. Her group right now is working on a tap number to Step in Time. Looks so good, can't wait to see them perform in costume.
