My favorite scene was when the woman from Candy Apples showed up at the competition with her own students. Abby was caught totally off guard when that woman barged in the dressing room. As she said "hey", her expression was a combination of what the hell are you doing here and I am going to try to smile.

I have only seen about 15 minutes of one episode. I always wonder where they find people to "star" on this type of show. I only hope they get paid well for their time.

Its a train wreck!

I hate the show and I can't stop watching it! My whole family sits here and yells at the tv for the whole episode every week. We are a dance family, but my DDs studio has a very limited competition schedule (the' company classes'
each do ONE competition per year, and they only do the local one, never going to the regionals/nationals). Watching this show has made us all very grateful that we don't have to deal with all that drama.

I just wish we'd get to see some tap once in a while instead of so much acro.

We love this show! DD is in competition dance and cheer and we always get a good laugh!

I read an interview somewhere that said that Kathy and Abbey are actually good friends and Kathy stated that Abbey had asked her to come do the show and add drama. A lot of what they do is actually scripted.

Another dance & cheer comp Mom. My DD14 who is in dance comp & I always watched it and laugh -- it's definitely a train wreck that you just can't help watching

I HATE that show!! it is horrible and I can not stand that big fat squaking lady that is so rude and horrible to the parents and kids that she feels like she owns. I have seen that show all of about 20 minutes before I vowed to myself that I would never give that show another second of my time. I love reality shows of this nature, but that hollerin ox is just a huge turn off and I refuse to endure that willingly. I even watch Toddlers & Tiaras and hate on the dumb, fat moms that are living that fantasy world (that part of their own childhood that is obviously missing). I also think that some of those kids need a strong hand of discipline, but that is another thread.

Back to Dance Moms~ it is apparent that she (the fat, obnoxious lady) has no life outside that dance stuido but OMG, what a sour attitude she has!!!

I realize that the dance teams win awards, but look @ what it cost them~their dignity, their self-esteem and their childhood.

It also makes me wonder what these parents are thinking. The one episode that I saw, the dad was with the girls and she had the kid crying cuz she didnt want the dad there. The dad was saying that they were leaving that studio after that competition. I didnt stick around to see if they actually left, but I can't imagine that I would subject myself or especially my kids to her nastiness @ all.

Me and my DD9 love the show- also have a daughter in dance and her studio is nothing like that. LOL All of us "dance mom's" there watch it. I can't believe that it isn't scripted- but even if it is- I would still watch.

I believe few studios are (like that). We're a dance family too.....dd just made the competition team at her studio after being on the Performance Team for a year. I hate that so many people seem to think that this is an accurate representation of the dance world. Sure there are bad studios out there...but there are wonderful studios as well which provide a wonderful opportunity for their dancers through competition.

I DO LIKE Dance Moms. It's a good show - look how many of us watch it!

My comment - please do not refer to someone as "fat" with a "poor attitude". Thin people have poor attitudes, as do tall people, short people, curly-haired, straight-haired, etc, etc, etc.

Fat & poor attitude are not synonymous.

DD8 & I love that show! She is in her 6th year of dance, but we are SOOO not like that at all. We love the studio she attends.

Anyways, cant wait for the new season to start

Yeah, I read somewhere $10K per person per show who is a star. Not sure how accurate that is though.
