I'm having the living seas as our reception site, but should we have a dance floor? I know many brides have done away with it in the past but I'm confused now. Is the dance floor part of the DJ package? Does this mean you save money on your DJ if you don't use an actual dance floor?

Would you recommend having a dance floor at the Living Seas? Or just dance on carpet?

You don't really need to have a dance floor in the LSS to dance. I believe the DJ package and dance floor are 2 separate things. We are having a DJ but no dance floor. We are just going to use the carpet. If we wanted the dance floor, I believe my planner said it would cost another $500.

Can I ask how much your DJ Package is costing for using the living seas without a dance floor?

so you can have a DJ at LSS? I figured it would disturb the fish... is there room to dance?

The living seas is split up into two levels/areas. When you walk in the left side/upper level has the table & chairs and the right side is empty space in front of the fish tanks. Splitting these spaces is one long curvy/bench couch. I can say that I didn't really get the feel for it until I saw it in person. The colors aren't as bright as the pics show so it has this great atmosphere. I'll post my pics later in my pj from my site visit.

The lights do go out on in the tanks at 11:00pm though. The only question I didn't get to ask is where the DJ actually goes in the living seas. The buffet/bar area is on the other side of the room.

I loved the living seas, I actually got to see Ariel's too and had the option to use it (just when I thought it was axed for me) and I picked Living seas over Ariels.

DFTW's Wishes packet says the lights go off at 9:45pm... perhaps it all depends on when the fish get sleepy! :rotfl:

FYI - the floor in the LS is already uncarpeted in the dancing area, so no need to pay for a dance floor. The DJ sets up in the far end of the long room, complete opposite of where the pre-reception would be held.
