Hello everyone its good to be back on the boards and just a little sad to be back home; though not too sad as yesterday we booked flights for Halloween:jump: :jump:
We left Manchester Airport on Christmas Eve Morning on a BMI Flight to Washington Dulles.. Manchester Airport is only an easy 40mins drive for us and at 6.30am there was little traffic on the roads.. On arriving at the Premiere Parking Area, which we have used for years now, the assistant informed us the Car Park was full and that he would give us passes to allow us to use the Short Stay Car Park, great news for us as this is connected directly by elevator to T1 departures. No queing at the Airport as we are in plenty of time and the staff are pulling couples or singles out of the line and checking them in at the empty Business desks (No upgrade though).. After the obligatory wander around the Tax Free Shops and the purchase of a mains adaptor (We seem to loose one every year) we settled into the exec lounge for a couple of hours of rest, tea and buns..
Flight was called on time and before long we are strapped into the seats of a BMI A330.. First plane I have been on for a long time that actually looks brand new on the inside.. The flight was comfortable, I particularly liked the Seat Back TVs especially the ability to view the pilots take off view and landing I think we watched Sharks Tale which was great and then a few bits of TV..
Arrived in a busy Dulles airport pretty much on time, I had initially thought our connection had a ridiculous amount of time between flights but not when we saw the queue for Immigration. One and a half hours later we are through.. Dulles Airport has all the charm of a run down factory and a system of getting from Terminal to Terminal in a cross between a monster truck and a bus.. PS I intend to write two lots of reports one concentrating on the food (fully illustrated), lets just say there is no food in Dulles other than queing for a cold slice of pizza or a soggy Burger King.
The Ted Flight leaves slightly late as we seem to have lost the crew, it turns out when the captain finally boards he was late coming in on another flight? A 2 hour hop down to Orlando International and we are finally here, Its about 9pm by the time we pick up the car but at least theres no queue. Love how our Rental Company ask if a Fiat Panda will be big enough for us (Yeah right) and we head to the car park to take whichever car we want.
Check into the Hilton around 10pm, First impressions good, The desk gives me a list for the buses and the Early Entry Buses which pick up at 6.15am .. We plan on Christmas Day to visit Sea World however so at least we can look forward to getting up at 7.00am rather than 5.30
. Straight to bed first ordering a room service breakfast for 6.30am.. The room is great and large and most importantly very quiet but Im so tired I forget to take a picture.. Needless to say despite the wonderful service from BMI the flights we have booked for October this year are Non Stop.. Tomorrow Sea World....
