Dana on Mission Bay---Reviews?

Has anyone stay here? Looking to do the DL/SD package deal and they recommeded this hotel..looking to go June 24-July 2nd and will be traveling with husband and 2 children (boys ages 10 & 5)..thanks

I think you're referring to Dana Inn. We stayed there twice and really enjoyed it.

It isn't fancy and is more like a motel as opposed to a hotel, but the rooms were large and clean, and we liked the surroundings with the marina right there. They also have a pool. I think you can walk to Sea World, but we chose to drive.

We also loved having breakfast at the restaurant on the property, I think it was called the Red Hen or something like that.

As long as you're not expecting a Hilton or Hyatt, I think you will like it.

We didn't stay there but we did drive past it this summer. The new section looked very nice, in fact we are thinking of staying there next summer. It is a short drive to Mission Beach with plenty of public parking available (at least there was during the week in August - not so sure if that is the case on the weekends). The new bayview rooms and suites are very roomy and the new section has a pool as well. I am sure that you would be able to watch the fireworks from Sea World from the bay beach. I would stay there, the location is good for many places in San Diego.

We stayed there about 6 years ago and probably wont stay there again. The room we were in was a little run down and the air conditioner leaked, so the carpet was always damp. We did like the location though.
