Dan Marino resigns as VP of Operations.....

About an hour ago Dan made an announcement basically that as much as he wants to be in a meaningful position with the Dolphins team, due to family concerns he will not be able to accept the position.

This is a sad day......I was so happy watching him during the Pre game stuff for the Superbowl, knowing he was going back home to the Fins...as he stated in his announcement, he is still Miami's number 1 fan.

There were rumors about this over the weekend, I was hoping it wouldn't be true. It sounds like family priorities had something to do with his decision. I'm disappointed.

My opinion is that when his duties were explained to him he probably wasn't going to get as much control over things as he would have liked and this was the best way to back out of it. These concerns for his family would have been there 3 weeks ago too. Nothing suddenly came up. It's a sad day.

I know there was talk over "something in writing"...I figured the same...after all, he has been burned by his *boss* in the past...
Why do I have the words Jimmy Johnson still nagging at me? Like he's got a hand in this somehow?

This is tough to take, I know he keeps his priorities straight, but I sometimes wonder if he family support in return.... not that I'm going to mention any names...oh I don't know...I'm crushed.

At least my DD Tinkbell was able to retrieve Dan's photo back for me. I was beginning to think there was a curse!
