Dame Doris Poll

Do you think Dame Doris belongs on the DIS?

  • Yes, it's all just for fun

  • Maybe, as long as nobody I know gets pictured

  • Probably not, someone's feelings might get hurt

  • NO WAY! I am setting a better example for my kids.

I think it would be contrary to Walt's vision of creating a place where families can come to spend time together for us to ridicule one another for how we dress when there. I just think there's far better things to do with one's time than photograph people who one person believes have dressed poorly.[/QUOTE]

Wonderfully said! :wizard:

The debate board was closed for ugliness and pettiness. This whole Dame Doris thing is a whole lot worse than that ever was.

Let's all make fun of people's clothing behind there back!! Wow isn't this 6th grade fun!!

actually there was very little ugliness or pettiness and numerous good points made on the other post... but oh well....

I know that this is supposed to be funny and not meant to offend anyone but I don't think that having Dame Doris monitor what WDW guests are wearing is very funny. I think it can be very hurtful (even with faces removed from the pictures). There are many reasons why people wear the clothes that they wear whether it's because they are overweight, have a altered body image, colorblind, or don't have a lot of money to afford other clothes, etc.

It seriously is juvenile in my opinion to make fun of how someone else dresses. :guilty:

Yeah, what she said!!!!

I'm sorry I just don't find this amusing. Making fun of other people is rude and mean.

I am one that is colored blind. I just cant match my clothes. I would hate for me to be on one of her post. I was made fun of in shcool. Really I hope this ends soon.

I voted, "probably not", because I was seriously disappointed in the column. Here was this HUGE build-up by the DIS about an exciting new addition to the website, and it turns out to be only a sarcastic rambling about what one person feels are awful outfits at WDW. I was expecting maybe an informative piece(es) offering suggestions about what TO wear at WDW; ie: comfy-but-fashionable clothing, good ideas for footwear, etc.

I was actually a bit uncomfortable reading the new column, feeling like it was a bit mean-spirited, and that it didn't really belong here.... JMHO.

This is one of those things that pushes my buttons. I don't really like making fun of people (even if it is anonymous) :sad2:
