Dallas on TNT.

Was Lucas maybe born the season of the 'dream' If so then he wouldn't be real, lol. I watched Dallas faithfully for about the first 10 years then kinda stopped watching the last few years.

Me too. What happened to JR's young wife Callie.

Me too. What happened to JR's young wife Callie.

Cally, born in 1965, was a waitress at a hotel in Hayleyville, Arkansas, whom J.R. met while on a hunting trip with his brother Bobby and their sons. J.R. seduced Cally into bed, but when J.R. is discovered by her crazed brothers, he is arrested and convicted for rape. After Cally's brothers break J.R. out of prison, Cally lies that she is pregnant, so her brothers force J.R. into a shotgun wedding. J.R. eventually escapes from Hayleyville and returns to Dallas, but Cally shortly thereafter follows him with the intention of making their marriage work. To her dismay, she finds that J.R. wants nothing to do with her.
Seeking the help of J.R.'s first wife, Sue Ellen, Cally tricks J.R. into renewing their wedding vows when she claims she really is pregnant. After tying the knot, J.R. discovers her ruse, but decides to remain married to Cally — mainly because his son John Ross has become fond of his stepmother.
Cally Ewing develops an interest in painting and has a distinct primitive Grandma Moses style. Miss Ellie encourages her talent and Lucy has Cally display her paintings at her art gallery.
However, their rocky marriage is short-lived as J.R. soon returns to his philandering ways. By the time Cally divorces J.R., she really is pregnant with his child. However, in an attempt to escape from J.R., Cally lies that J.R.'s son James is the child's father and J.R. allows Cally to leave Dallas. Later, upon discovering the child's true paternity, J.R. decides to track Cally down and finds she has created a new life for herself in Florida with her new child and boyfriend. Realizing how happy Cally is, J.R. decides to leave her in peace.

I need to do some research, since I missed the last 2 seasons. I was unaware that JR had a child other than John Ross.

my 14 yr old daughter and I am watching this together during the summer...wonder if I should rethink that if all the old "begatting" comes back...lol!

What if Tommy and Rebecca turn out to be Callie's kids? Tommy could be JR's son and Rebecca his half sister....that could be an interesting twist.

J.R. has a son named James? It's been so long; I don't remember him. What happened to him?

James was old when he was on the show. If anyone watched Step by Step with Patrick Duffy, He was on that show as well he was the cousin I wanna say his name Cody.

James Beaumont was J.R. Ewing's son from his affair with Vanessa Beaumont in France; he was born in 1967. James was raised in Europe with his mother and her husband who he believed to be his father until his mother told him that his true father was Texas oil baron J.R. Ewing. James came to Dallas to seek out the father he never knew he had. James shocked everyone when he announced the he was J.R.'s son at a family dinner with all of the Ewings present. J.R. embraced James as his son but James proved to be manipulative. James resented his father's interference in his life from controlling James' business dealings and to attempting to break up James' relationship with Michelle Stevens. Seeking revenge on J.R., James conspired with J.R.'s wife, Cally and blocked J.R.'s release from a sanitarium.
James eventually married Michelle, but he later learned that his first marriage to Debra Lynn was never dissolved. Further, Debra Lynn had his child, James Richard Beaumont, Jr. (nicknamed "Jimmy"). James decided to stay married to Debra Lynn and annulled his marriage to Michelle. In the end, James, Debra Lynn and Jimmy decided to move back East to escape the control of J.R. Wikipedia

And this would bother J.R. . . . . how?

CMT is running a marathon of the original series today. It's sooooo cheesy but I love it!

Subscribing to this thread. I grew up watching the original Dallas with my mom and I was so excited to see it back on the air. Definitely tuning in each week!

Also subscribing ! My Mom and I are big Dallas fans...we're watching together once again. :goodvibes

Maybe they will kill him off. Then, the next season, Ann can wake up, hear someone in the bathroom, go in, and discover Bobby taking a shower. :rotfl:
:lmao: I had the same thought! Actually, I think my exact words were, "Oh yeah, sure - cancer. We're not falling for a Bobby death twice!"

I keep looking around the house for a picture of Miss Ellie and Jock.
::yes:: I was looking for it, too!

I believe Jock's portrait was moved when Miss Ellie re-married (Howard Keel).
I'm in the middle of the final season on DVD now, and it was hanging in Bobby's office when he sold the company to Lee Ann de la Vega. JR just took it, so I'm assuming it winds up in his office. So where is it in 2012??? :confused3

I am watching the original series on CMT right now & it's not the exact same opening, the pics are different - and the font of the word DALLAS. (It also says A Lorimar Production in the original series opening). But it sure is a great opening - so similar!
It changes a bit over the years - the Lorimar thing gets dropped at some point and the graphics get freshened up. But I, too, love that they kept the overall look! :thumbsup2

When they finally show Cliff, I wonder if he will be eating out of a Chinese take-out box?
He's back tomorrow night, according to Ken Kecheval's Twitter feed, and I do so hope he's eating Chinese! :rotfl:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gee, can you tell from the above that I'm a die-hard Dallas fan?! :rolleyes: Yep - watched every season, starting in 4th grade. Everything halted in my house for Dallas and Falcon Crest.
I have to say, I went in with low-ish expectations, prepared to not be impressed but hoping nonetheless... and I was WOWED! Amazing - they somehow managed to capture all that was fantastic about the original while bringing it up to date. Larry Hagman just blows me away as JR, Bobby, as a PP noted, is still Bobby, and Sue Ellen, aside from looking fabulous, is just getting warmed up, methinks. I think the youngsters are settling in; they seemed more comfortable in their roles by the second hour. Much like the first season of the original, where all but Larry Hagman and Barbara Bel Geddes took a while to get a groove going.
I'm wondering if James will be back in some way down the road. He's an easy one to replace with a different actor, if necessary, and might make for an interesting twist, a la the Gary/Ray/Jr/Bobby drama of yesteryear. :idea:
Re-casting James would be the best bet because as i recall the original James had some very violent issues going while he was on Step by Step with Patrick and not only got thrown off the show but into jail. No idea if he's still there or not:confused3 I daresay Patrick would not be interested in working with him again
Oh man CMT ended the marathon with the "Who Shot JR" epsiode - now they're running the original Dukes of Hazzard. What a HOOT!!!
JR to Cliff Barnes - "Time has not been kind to that face" :rotfl2: Now that's the pot calling the kettle black!
