Dal 1st Timer needs Ticket help!

Ok, our 1st trip to DL, we have been to WDW several times.

We have 4 1day tickets , no hopper.
I would like to have 4 3 day hopper tickets.

What is the best and cheapest way to achieve this?

I am pretty sure you will only be able to upgrade at the ticket booths and not at all if the tickets are complimentary. They have no value towards an upgrade.

At gate prices a 3 day hopper costs more than a 4 day, 1 park per day ticket. Before you use the tickets you can try going to the ticket booth to see if they'll all you to apply the value of your tickets towards purchasing the 3 day tickets. If not, your options are to use the 4th day or upgrade your 4 day tickets to hoppers as well.

Are these the tickets your daughter won at an auction? You'll need to check the tickets to see if they can be upgraded since often tickets offered as prizes are complimentary and cannot be upgraded because they have $0.00 value.

If they can be upgraded it will have to be done at the ticket booth at DL. According to the ticketing rules you will only be able to use 1 ticket for each upgrade even though you have 4 tickets for 3 people.

If the tickets cannot be upgraded it will be harder because you will have to look at ticket prices and decide what will work best for you. A couple of possibilities: forego hopping and have 1 person use all the tickets, or everyone uses 1 ticket each on a non-hopping day and buy multiday tix to cover the rest of the days.

Well if they're free tickets the cheapest option is just not hop one day and supplement with 2 day hoppers.

Yes they are what we got at the auction. I do not know how they are valued. They are just a stiff paper ticket not sure of the value.
Looks like I'm gonna try to get a 2 day pass from arestravel.com for 4 tix for $876
Can anyone find a better deal?

Is there anywhere on the back of the tickets that says Complimentary or indicate that they cannot be upgraded? You could also try calling DL ticketing and ask if there is some kind of code on the tickets that would indicate whether these are regular tickets or complimentary before spending the money on additional tickets.
