Daisy Mae kitty RIP

Boy, no more animals...I can't take it when they go.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved cat. I know how hard it is to lose a pet but maybe someday you will be able to open your heart and home to another.

Lend Me A Kitten

I will lend to you for a while a kitten, God said.
For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he's dead.

Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three.
But will you, 'till I call him back, take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief,
you'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught below that I want him to learn.

I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true,
And from the folk that crowds life's land I have chosen you.

Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take my kitten home again?

And in my heart I replied, "My Lord, Thy Will Be Done."
For all the joys this kitten brings, the risk of grief I'll run.

We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may.
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.

But should you call him back much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.

If by our love we've managed your wishes to achieve,
in memory of its sweet love, please help us while we grieve.

And when our cherished kitten departs this world of strife,
Please send us yet another one to love for all its life.

Oh my! Thank you for the Lend me a kitten poem..I am a blubbering mess.

Don't worry about my house right now. I was the one a year ago that took 5 motherless kittens in. I kept three!

I now have our dog, Chloe who is 4 adopted from the Humane Society.

2. Molly a cat that is 10 years old, adopted from the Humane Society, I raised her (i worked at the H.S. when she came in) and her siblings, motherless also. She is a beautiful torti/calico mix.

3. Kit, a 4-5 year old cat, it is my DD's cat. She got her from a friend that took in strays. They had the mom cat in the backyard, and they still have her. She is a beautiful calico with BROWN, yes brown in her coat. When you look at Kit she looks black, but put her in the sun, she is brown.

4. Kid-e-cat he is our stray that adopted us. He comes and goes as he pleases. Since I work for a vet it is fairly inexpensive to keep him up to date on all vaccines. He is a fun one...brings us chipmunk heads, snakes, baby bunnies, not too fun to see that stuff.

5.OK...the kids Lyon, one of the kittens from last year. He is my big guy, I just took him in for vacc, he is 12.12 lbs. Big orange and white tabby. I have always wanted one like him. He likes to sleep right beside me with his head on my pillow.

JJ- he is my youngest sons, cat. He follows Sean all over the house. He is 11 lbs. He is a yellow tabby too.

Harmony is the baby, she is only 8 lbs and is a torti. She loves my DD and my oldest son. If they close their bedroom doors and she can't get in, you can hear her cry for them. It is pitiful!

So, no, I still have pets. It is just hard as they go. My DH said we would never, ever be without a cat. It's amazing, this man did not care for pets when I met him. He did not mind them, just did not care one way or the other.
I had my great cat with me when I met him. They formed a bond, and the rest is history.

I'm so glad their are people on this board that understand what it is like to love and lose a pet. Bless you all for helping me through this to remember what I have, remember Daisy fondly and move on.

Thanks
Lisa

I am glad she is at peace. Sorry to both of you. Thanks again Dan for Rainbow Bridge bump it up, it is a great comfort!

Lisa

I found this out a few years ago. ALL black cats are actually brown. I didn't believe it either but put my two black ones in the sun and sure enough! They had a sibling that I tried to rescue with them that was a truly brown tabby. I have never before or after seen a true brown tabby. He was beautiful and hopefully found a good home.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

In the past 3 months we have now had our 3 oldest cats die (all over 15yrs.old) the pain is so intense some days we just can't stand it.

They now have all been cremated and I am decorating the boxes they are in for Christmas with ribbon and they are on the mantle like the gifts they were to us. We have a picture of each one with their box so everyone can see how pretty they were.

These were not pets they were the human children we never had.

Again, I am so sorry that there are so many here who suffer the loss of their beloved creatures.

Petloss.com is a wonderful resource for all who love their fur children
