I posted last night on the "Who likes cats" thread about my cats.
Daisy was only 12 and had cancer. I am thankful she fell asleep on the couch last night and did not wake up.
I did not want to have to take her in to work. It is a difficult thing to have a pet euthanized.

She was a good kitty...Rest in Peace Daisy, we'll miss you!

So sorry to read that, Lisa. And you are so correct, it is difficult. Our little pets give us such joy and comfort for years, and then they too must go. But when they do, Lisa, remember, they do go to that bridge, playing, waiting, and Daisy is there too.....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm very sorry for your loss, and I'm glad she went peacefully while she was dreaming.

 Poor Daisy Mae kitty. :( I'm so sorry you lost your fur baby.

Awww, so sorry. I also read and posted on that thread so knew that your kitty was not doing well. How wonderful that she passed so quickly and didn't linger for a long time. Still hard for you I know. And anyone who has read the "crying thread" would not be surprised to know that I'm in tears reading your post. :grouphug: and know that you provided a great life for your kitty!

I am very sorry for your loss

Thank you Dan for the Rainbow Bridge, that provides some comfort to anyone who has lost a pet.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Our 15-year old kitty, Mickey, also died yesterday of cancer. Pets provide such love and devotion that their passing leaves a void that's difficult for non-pet lovers to understand. Our prayers go out to you. :paw:

I'm sorry for your loss, too. It is so hard, even though we knew it was coming. My DD, who is 20 was at work. I was going to wait until she got home before I took Daisy into work. She was going to be later than the office was open, so I just took Daisy in.
We are getting Daisy cremated. That way if we move, she goes with us.

Boy, no more animals...I can't take it when they go.

Thanks everyone.

I'm so sorry Lisa and Dana. Our pets die much too quickly. :grouphug:

:grouphug: So Sorry. I had two go from cancer. Both were only 11.

So sorry to hear about your kitty! :(

Back in October we had to put Allie, our beloved pet of 17 years to sleep and it was so awful. :( She was the third pet we had to do that to and the second one I stayed with until the end. It doesn't get any easier.

We still have her 17 year old sister and last week we got two 11 week old (female) kittens! I NEED to have cats in my life...

I read your post this morning at work and I felt so bad for you........I know how you feel my 20 year old died this past Feb. and I still feel his presence in the house.
As for no more animals.............I hope you change your mind in the future since they do bring so much love into our lives and there are so many that need good homes......."every end is someones beginning"
I went to Petsmart yesterday and adopted a kitten, but when I got home my dad saw her and fell in love..........(he lives next door) So she now has a new home and my dad has been doting on her all day, for some reason I think it is best that he has her since my mother passed away he needs to have something to dote on, so I will find another kitten for myself!! I hope you too will find it in your heart to love another. Although I am not catless right now, I just wanted to give someone a home and get some "young" blood in the mix here!
