Dairy Farmers Wife IS going to Disney in March/April!

We gave up park hoppers years ago because park hopping simply takes up too much time. But, I can certainly see why you are considering it.

Thats why we never get them either. But I still am on the fence this time around. I probably should just go with my plan, but then I think, I would love to get some pictures at AK, and just enjoy it for a couple of hours.

I have missed so much!!!!!! I had to go back and find out what was going on when you posted on my thread. How dare my real life get in the way of my Dis!

So sorry to hear Skip backed out. One nice thing, that you may not have thought about, is at least he won't be with all worried about what is going on at the farm. I am sure you will have a fabulous time even without Skip... and that does mean another vacation this year! :thumbsup2

I will try to keep up with your posts this week. I know that with the way things have been for you that your plans could change yet again! :rotfl:

We did the parkhoppers on our last trip and I so wish we would have saved the money. I understand why they would work for you this trip though.

Don't say that. I don't think I can handle any other changes! :scared1:
It's gonna be hard to be a part for a week...more so for him since he will be here alone.
One week from right now we will be in the air!

Well, for my family park hopping is pretty much a no go on all trips. It takes too much time and money for us. However, if I was doing a land/sea trip and had limited time at WDW, I might consider it. It guess it comes down to asking yourself if the picture opportunities are worth $50 more (I think that is what the hopper costs???). But I know that doesn't help much b/c, being a shutterbug myself, I know how much your picture taking means to you. Personally, my vacation pictures are my very favorite souvenir, so I would probably buy the hopper in this one situation and just not buy any other souvenirs at WDW to make up the cost.

Congrats on the 7 days days til your trip!

May you be at peace with whatever decision you make about park hopping.

Just a question, if you were not to hop and your parents hop then take the car back to the room. How will you get back to your resort? If you would need a taxi that way too, then it doesn't seem much different than the park hopping and getting a ride back to the resort. Except, of course, for the added expense of hopping.

Jen - have you checked with the hotel you are staying at that night (off property) to see if they run a free bus to Disney? Even alot of the smaller motels run free shuttles to Disney - that could save you the cab fare if you wanted to stay longer than your parents.

I'm not exactly sure of your question, but if you mean the first night...we are at Pop Century, so we are using the buses that day. For Epcot day I have been looking at alternatives...taxi, dad coming back to get us, they take a taxi and I use the car...etc.

It's a hard decision, but at this point, I am thinking maybe not worth it. I guess if we got to Mk and it is just jammed I could alway hop over to AK and upgrade the ticket then.

I have looked at the Residence Inn site and so far I can't find that they provide shuttle for any parks. That ideally would be the best option.

You might want to call the hotel itself, or check it on the AAA website, they might not post it on the Residence website. We belong to AAA, I'll be glad to check their website to see if they have it posted there - which Residence Inn is it?

I did find that they hav e a shuttle, but basically no info on it. I have AAA too. How do you findthat info on the site?

Jen I think if I were you and I didn't have a lot of park days I wouldn't want to take up any of my time hopping between parks. I would just want to soak up every minute of the park I was at but thats just me. Do whatever you think will be the most fun just remember that hopping is not as quick as it sounds.

Happy 7 days:yay::woohoo:

Yeah for only 7 more days!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I am not a huge help on the ticket dilema though! We hop all the time, but then we have a car and it doesn't take long to drive from park to park.

I did hop a few times in the 90's and thats why we don't now. :lmao: It took a lot of time and I think we did it only once or twice each trip, but that is when hopping was included in the ticket already. I keep going back and forth on it.

I knew you were a hopper. I think the hopping from AK to MK wil ltake some time though since the parks aren't too close. I may just leave it as a last minute decision. :rolleyes1

Wow Jen, I just stopped in to see how your final plans were going and I found out about your travel partner changes! I'm glad everything is settled. I'm sure you and Claire will miss Skip but it will be nice to at least have your parents there if he can't be.

Have safe and magical travels!

Yes, a total change has happened once again...Knock on wood nothing else changes!

Thanks!

Well I am probably no help either. I always get park hoppers. We usually go to one of the parks during the day, head back to the hotel or go get dinner, then go to a park with EMH and stay there until close. It worked REALLY well for us in December as on EMH days the parks tend to be more crowded in the day time, but it was so cold at night that the crowds thinned out a LOT.

Thanks for your thoughts. I swear my brain is hurting from trying to decide what to do! LOL!

Hey Jen, happy 7 days!!:woohoo: Good grief, it's going to fly now!

We've never done the park hoppers so I can't really help you out in that way. They've just never appealed to us since we always go during the slow times of the year. If it were me, I'd probably just wait and play it by ear. How's that for being unhelpful!

OMG! I've haven't been on here in a while and what has happened.

I'm glad that your mom was able to take Skip's place and your dad will also be joining you.

Hope all goes well in the next 7 days :cool1:

I know AAA has different regions so I'm not sure their websites are the same, but I just go to their website, the travel section, hotels, and then fill in the information, like dates, where you want to go, so put in Orlando, FL, then you can sort the hotels by name, click on the "R" for Residence and choose which hotel is yours. They usually have a description of the hotel and maybe a review, but somewhere there it will list the amenities and it should say like "shuttle service to attractions" - if that's all it says, I would just call the hotel and ask for the front desk or concierge desk and get all that information. I know we stayed in Kissimmee one year at some chain hotel, but they had scheduled shuttle service to Disney. I would just call the individual hotel to confirm.
