Dairy Farmers Wife IS going to Disney in March/April!

Hi Jen I've been reading your report for a while now and decided to come out to said hi:wave2: . I'm so glad you'll be going back this December, I hope every thing goes well with your husband. We are also going back in December but by the 18, my dd is going into 1st grade now and its harder for me to take her out of school. I want to give you my five cents on the stroller issue, don't worry about what people said buy that stroller for Claire, my dd will be 7 this september and the only time she rides hers is when we go to Disney.

Jen, don't pay attention to the stroller snobs. I'm still amazed at the venom that topic brings out in people. They think THEIR way of vacationing is the only way. Additionally, there are some for whom belittling others here is a blood sport.

Heck, if I could find a stroller big enough to hold me, I'd probably be all over it! :rotfl:

I hope they get an answer for Skip soon.

Me too! I would love to take a rest here and there. I agree, there are some people on here who just love to get contriversal on topics like that.

Wow! don't let other people tell you how to raise your child! After all, you already raised 2! I understand that claire probably could make do without a stroller, but you would probably get less accomplished in the parks, and there would be more whining from all sides. I don't see any reason not to get her a stroller if it makes life easier for you. I'm sorry those other people on the other threads are so snotty!

Yes, life is easier and we can do more with out complaints.

Thanks for joining in! I always laugh how those kind of people really think talking nasty is going to change others minds about something.

I so have been looking for a smiley with a tongue sticking out for all those stroller snobs. You know what works best for your child. Don't give them another thought. We have 2 kiddos. DS will be 3 at the time of the trip and DD will be 4...1 month shy of 5. We have rented a double stroller from an outside company (we are driving with limited space). I know that if DD doesn't have a place to sit from time to time it will be very short trips to the parks. I know that. She shares a stroller here when we do day trips to local amusement parks and things but she is going to need so much more rest in WDW. Somewhere I read that on average you walk 10 miles a day at Disney. I know my daughter would only be able to do that the first day or two and then we would be having one miserable trip. As I said, I am not listening to the naysayers and neither should you. We know our children and we are only trying to make it the best trip for them we possibly can.

Yes there is alot of walking at Disney. I did report the most abusive poster, the one who refered to Claire as snowflake, and me as self righteous and I did see later last night her post was deleted and so were a few others. I had decided after she got that nasty to just not respond. I had explained why I wanted one and didn't think I needed to go on about it. And also said I really wasn't asking for opinions on if I should use one, but what kind to use. I hope she got a warning too. LOL!

So how are you and snowflake doing this morning? :sad2: :stir: :badpc:

I love the DIS but I'm sorry your simple question turned into a flaming match. I never understand why people love to add their 2 cents. If they didn't have an answer for your question they shouldn't of responded.

I'm sure we are bringing our stroller to Disney in December (Juliana will be 4.75 years old) and I'm not sure when we will stop. ITA with you how it keep the kids safe instead of having them walking through the crowds. :scared:

I sure hope that the injection will help Skip. I know that you feel as if you are getting the run around. It actually sounds like this guy may know what he's talking about. Doctors are like lawyers....they don't like to put one another down unless there's really a reason behind it. Most times, they are all thick as thieves.

As far as the stroller issue goes and the snotty comments made, that's just plain ridiculous. Only you know your child and can decide whether or not she needs a stroller. I think we stopped using a stroller when Hunter was 4 but I am not sure. What those people have to realize is the Disney World is not the "real" world. Disney can be an overwhelming to anyone and can be extremely tiring to anyone. If Claire needs a stroller every once in a while, then that's your decision to make. Heck, sometimes I wish I had a stroller every once in a while.

I hope this latest doctor can help Skip.

:furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:
Nothing gets my goat more than someone telling me how I should live my life. I think I would have went nuts over the sanctimonious poster who called your daughter snowflake.
I am planning on renting a double stroller when we go down, and my daughters will be 8 and 4. I'm sure in the beginning of the day neither is going to want to use the stroller, but later I think both will be hopping in so they don't have to walk. If people don't like it, well tough friggin noogies.
:furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

Wow...guess I really missed some things while I was at my parents' anniversary weekend! I was just going to say that my DD is nearly 8 and we rented her a stroller at DL this summer. She's usually really good about walking most of the day, but she had been sick and was too weak to stand or walk all day. We did get some glares but no one said anything to us. I just ignored people. I think the anonymity of this board sometimes brings out the uglier side of people....I've been flamed before on a couple of things too. Just do what you need to for your child and don't worry about anyone else. :goodvibes

We'll if you have a 'snowflake', I guess I ahve 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

My boys are 5.5 and 6.5 and they WILL be in a double stroller when we go next month! I don't care what others think. I know my kids better than anyone else and know for my sanity I better have one! I posted a thread about doubles and someone mentioned that my boys were old enough to walk. Yes, yes they are old enough to walk, but they won't be walking! My post didn't get near as heated as yours, I put the kabash on it when I told them my kids have had issues...which is the truth, but also NONE of their busniess. I didn't ask for thier opnions on if I should bring it or not, I asked for an opinion on a stroller.

I jsut don't understand how some people here get so heated up about stuff. Different strokes for different folks.....There has been some posts I ahve seen that I thought "NO way would bla bla bla" but I don't TELL the person that! It's their life, I don;t have to live it!

YAY for DD 1st day of K!!!!!!!!!!! My little guy starts the 30th and has been counting down the days until school starts! Can't wait to see pictures

DOH, I meant to also say...

BRU sometimes has 20% off any one baby item in the sunday circular and lately the stores have been doing buy a stroller and get blank dollars off. For a $200 stroller it was 40 or 50 off!!!!! The price of the stroller went up in $50 amounts, so depending how how fast you need/want to get the new stroller, you might be able to get it cheaper than ebay!

Yes, I couldn't believe how nasty and opinionated some people were. I want to enjoy my trip and this makes it easier for us. The one girl said we should leave if someone gets tired, but if I have a stroller it prevents her from getting that tired till much later. :confused3

Yes I agree. Child safety is a big issue in crazy crowds. I happen to like my kid. :lmao:

The injection was another fiasco. Like I sad before, if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. Claire could go wothout a stroller, but it just makes it easier on mom and dad and more pleasant. But others think I am "damaging her" if I use a stroller. Maybe you were pushed in one to olong and thats why you want to ride one as an adult? LOL! :rotfl2:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
Henceforth, your daughter shall be known to all as Snowflake

NO!!!!!! It really ticked me off when they called her snowflake. She's "Princess" can't anyone see that? :rolleyes1

It really annoys me too. Why do they ccare what I do. Also one mentioned about me "wasting" my money. What do they care if I blow money on something dumb or not. I wasn't using their money.
I'll post about our not so good Dr experience...yet again...today... in a bit.

I hope you had a great time. I am queen of the glares! So if they glare at me, they get one back. And if they say something to me, they just might be walking away crying. LOL! Especially if I'm in one of those moods. ;)

We'll if you have a 'snowflake', I guess I ahve 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

She is excited to go back again tomorrow. She had today off, since the they only did half the class yesterday and the other half today. So tomorrow it wil lbe the whole class together for the 1st time. There are 16 in her class, but she went to preschool with all but 3, so she knows pretty much everyone.

I don't get why some people love to get into heated threads. It's like they look for them. And if you read there post history, alot of them do it in other threads as well.

DOH, I meant to also say...

You know...I looked online for 2 days trying to find one of those BRU codes/coupons and couldn't find a current one. I have seen them alot over the years, but as soon as I want one, you can't find one. LOL!

So it was another roller coaster of a day.

I have been talking to Skip about getting a new phone, since mine doesn't hold a charge for very long anymore. I have been eligible for an upgrade for over a year now. So I told him last night that I was going to start looking and also check our plan, which consist of 4 phones, the 2 of us, his brother and a former worker. That phone hasn't been used for over a year, so we are going to see if we can shut it off.
I went over to MIL's this morning to get the lastest bill...since our account is paid by the farm, and she does the bookwork... I look at the bill and see my number is charge 9.99 times 3 for premioum messaging. I have no clue what it is, since I really don't even know how to text.
Claire and I went to Story time at the library and she went over to her friends house after.
I came home and called sprint/nextel. I find out that for about a year, these charges have been on my phone for texts from different companies. I told the girl I don't open them, just delete them. (nor know why thy started coming to me) She told me I should've and then I would've known that I could opt out, and text back stop (which I have no clue how to even do. :flower3:) So over the past year we have around $300 + in charges to these stupid places. She gave me the numbers to call and see about refunding us, since it has nothing to do with Sprint. I have called 2, one gave me several numbers, (run around) and of course a lady called me back while I was at the Dr's with Skip, so I'll call her tomorrow. The other said they have no record of charges to my number, so I need to get a copy and email it to them. I haven't called the third yet.
I told Skip about it, and he said "whats the big deal?" Well $30 a month should make him mad, but I guess not. Who can figure him. :rolleyes1:love:
A little after 2 we set off for the Drs. We get there and he asks if I'm gonna leave, and I said I wasn't sure. So we went in, and they said he wouldn't be done till 4. Again he said, are you gonna leave? and I told him I would wait till they called him back, which they did 5 minutes later. So I sat another 5, went out to my car, sat another 5, and decided to look for a sprint store and check out phones.:rolleyes1
I found one, talked about plans, and phones and I decided another plan would be good for us. It was going to cost basically the same, but we got alot more minutes, texting, internet, etc. I also decided on the motorolla i1 Droid phone. It isn't the best droid (which I know nothing about anyways :rotfl2:) but it's the first and only one that can use Nextel Direct connect. It looked super cool! :cool2: They have to order it and will call me tomorrow to let me know if it came in.

So back to the Dr. :goodvibes I got back at 3:35. Plenty of time! Right? :sad2: Wrong!!!!! Skip was waiting outside for me. He hopped in, and didn't look pleasant. I asked how it was, and he said they didn't do the injection. His hip Dr is going to do another biopsy tomorrow to see if there is infection there (so far all tests say no), and this Dr said he just couldn't do it with the possiblity of infection anywhere in his body. Skip was steaming mad. And mad at me. I told him he should've called me, but he left his phone at home and couldn't remember my number to call from another phone. (He just looks for my name in his list and presses it. LOL)
So I had to hear how long he had to wait. ALL the way home :guilty: Thank goodness I didn't go do anything else. :rolleyes1

Good news ..I recieved my lands end shirts today and they are cute/nice. I also forgot to mention I did receive her dress a few days ago as well, and it's cute.

And some really cool news.
Skips cousin Knocked on our door today about 7PM. She had a box in her hand and told Claire she just had a garage sale and was going to get rid of what she didn't sell to goodwill. But wanted to know if Claire wanted her sons.....wait...wait..

Monorail set! OHHH!:banana: :dance3: It is so cool. I said if Claire didn't want it, I would take it. :cool2: Claire was so excited and jumped all around and we quickly set it up. It talks too. We love it.

And it worked out as a good lesson for Claire. On Friday I gave Claire's old spring rocking horse to my friend who has a 18 month old. Claire hasn't used it in over a year. But when they drove away with it in the back of their truck, She cried! ALOT! Skip and I tried to tell her how good it was for her to let someone else get joy out of it, but she wasn't convinced.
So with this new monorail set, I told her that God was so proud of her for letting Charlie use her horse that he rewarded her with some kindness too. I don't know if she beleived me though. LOL!

Henceforth, Claire shall be known as....

Princess Snowflake from Snowflakia

Is that better?

:lmao:

I sent the t-shirt designs. I didn't think about it, but I just forwarded the email sent to me from Tim, and it does have some a message or something from him in it to me. (I forgot to erase that part) Something like are you going?. So just ignore that part. LOL!
