Dairy Farmers Wife IS going to Disney in March/April!

I like your hoodie collection! The '09 hoodie is so pretty! Do you still wear all of them or just the most recent? I've always wanted to buy a WDW hoodie, but then I look at the $45 price tag and bite my nails. Maybe I'll give in one of these days.

The 2010 one is my favorite, I have it too! :teeth:

I'm finally subbing in, so I can stay in touch with you and see what's going on. I leave in a few days, but then I'll have internet service at the apartment about 2 weeks later, and I'll catch up.

Yes I wear them all. I rotate them. When one giets dirty I wash it, and will grab another. I don't like coats much, so until it gets winter this is pretty much what I wear. I bring them to the movies where it's usually chilly or if we go someplace and I know the night will get chilly. The one that gets the least use out of it now is the 2007 one because it is bigger, so it's more of a lounge around type sweatshirt, if I know I might dirtier at some place that will come along.

I love the 2010 sweatshirt, I may have to look for that one when I am there!!!

When I saw it lonline at the Disney Store I wasn't sure, but once I got it, I loved it.

Thanks for stopping in. I know you are super busy right now. Will Lou come visit you while you are there?
I hope we go and I can meet up with you and say hi! Claire will be impressed that I know a CM! Heck so will I!! :cutie:

We're going to the Zoo today. Luckily the temps have dropped to a nice temp today with a bit of breeze. Tomorrow Claire starts her 1st day of Kindergartin!!!

We had that beautiful weather last week...now it's hot and humid again. :sad2: Enjoy the zoo!

Is Claire excited about school? for you!!!

Great updates Jen :thumbsup2

All the last day pictures of Claire in her Aurora dress are just adorable !

How awesome to get Mickey Mail already ! We are down to 1 month and haven't received anything yet :(

Glad you won the dress , that's not a bad price at all for Lands End :thumbsup2

Great hoodie collection , my fav would have to be a tie between 09 and 10 .

Hope you had a great time at the Zoo and Claire's first day of school goes well

You are getting the weather we have had. Most of the last week has been 90's with really high humidity. It's been awful. Today there is a breeze. I think it was about 85, but alot less humidity, so made it somewhat bearable.
Claire really hasn't said one way or the other much about school. She will know pretty much all the kids as she has gone to preschool with them. She's too young to complain how early it is they are going back. But my personal belief is no kids should go back till Labor Day and all be out by Memorial Day. It seems like the kids don't get much summer time anymore.

Great updates Jen :thumbsup2

Thanks. I love that Pink dress. I love the Hoodies too. The Zoo was nice, but some reason extremely crowded. I thought Monday would be slower. I kept thinking, doesn't any of these people work? LOL! My friend and her kids went too. Her DD is Claire age and told me a year ago that strollers are for babies, like her brother. WEll Claire still sits in her stroller, and loves it, so I bring it. Well her firend constantly kept asking Claire to get out so she could sit in it. LOL! :rolleyes1

The bad thing is Claire has become to heavy for this stroller all of a sudden. I think I may need to buy a new one, since we still use it alot.

If anyone knows of a nice easy steering stroller that can take higher weights, I would love to know. I was getting really frustrated today pushing this thing.

I jsut ordered a Graco IPO Twin, but they do make singles. They twin holds 2 50lb children, so I would think the IPO holds the same. Also I looked at a Combi, which holds 45. The Combi was more money! HTH

That one looks nice, but it only goes to 50lbs and Claire is 52. I did find one that goes to 70lbs online , but I went to see if Babiesrus had it and it's not in stock there yet since it's so new. I really want to test drive it and get a feel for the storage area before shelling out that kind of money.

I have heard people mention some of the maclaren have a higher weight limit.
I took the mountain buggy urban double with us to disney. It has a 110 pound weight limit (55 per side). My girls are 35 and 45 so I'm hopping they will have the stamina to walk before they outgrow it.

I just used a Maclaren for our trip in May. It worked great. DD will be 6 in Oct and is maybe 45". I forget how much she weighs but is average size. The stoller is great and very easy to push around. When I bought mine I got a new stoller but the model from the year before so it was maybe $40 cheaper. I forgot when I got it. 2008 maybe. So I bought the 2008 model when the 2009 models came out. The only difference was that they were new colors.

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep them coming. Claire is 52 lbs and most Maclarens go to 55lbs. I did try one at Babies R us last night and it di ride smoothly. (the Volvo we liked best) But whats with the storage underneath. How do you get anything in and out?
I found an Aprica Presto online at BRU but they didn't have it in the store. It's weight limit is 70lbs. I just really would like to see it and test it first before spending $200 on it.

I have found the Maclaren Volo for about $70 on ebay, but I just don't know if I should spend it on something that may not last since she is close to the weight limit.

Your Welcome :)

How funny that Claire's friend thought strollers were for babies but then wanted to ride in it at the Zoo , guess there not to babyfied when your tired of walking lol

I recommend a Maclaren for a new stroller :thumbsup2 We have two Maclaren's both are triumphs only difference is one is a twin . My DS6 still rides in both of them on vacation and they hold up just fine ! Both of them have storage baskets underneath and recline to several positions which is great for them to take a nap . I absolutely  them kinda pricey but well worth the money !

My DBFF's children have always been average for weight and height and they also use nothing but Maclaren . If you have a Toy R Us or Babies R US by u take Claire in with you and try one out they usually carry them in stock in there store , that's where we got our single , had to order the double off line .

Thanks. How much does your DS weigh?
Someone old me Maclaren has an ebay store, so Im gonna check stuff out there, but of course I can't get ebay to load for some reason. :sad2:

Goodness I was behind. I love the new haircut. So cute!

Yay for winning the dress on ebay. Even if it was a little more than you found on another site, you get the leggings so that's a plus.

 for getting Mickey Mail! I love getting Mickey mail.

Did you see all the new offers Disney has out right now? I was so excited to see them!

I'm behind on alot of threads now too. But I'll catch up eventually! LOL!

I have seen the offers, which is good in case we go next year instead. I'm hoping the dress arives today! I'm always antsy waiting for stuff. LOL!

Wow!!! What a day!

First off Claire started Kindergartin and LOVED it. I'll post pictures sometime in the next week, when I get a chance to load them.

Secondly, Skip went to pain management clinic today. Let me say, I can't beleive how many incompetant Drs are in the Toledo Area. This Dr. looked at all of Skips Scans, etc...except the most recent stuff, since the Hip Dr says he never recieved those results as of yet...though the Hospital sent them on Friday. :sad2:
This Dr at the Pain management basically said, Skip most likely never didn't need his hip replaced..at least not right away. He also has Stenosis, which the Nueroglogist said he didn't have. Who the heck do we believe anymore?
This Dr was actually mad at all the crap Skip has gone through. He can't beleive the run around he has gotten either. So of course Skip likes this guy. LOL!
So Tomorrow Skip is scheduled for an injection, unless we hear something different from the hip Dr....Who by the way seems antsy now to open Skip back up and just do another replacement. Something we really hope to avoid unless absolutely nessesary. It's al lso crazy. I swear this could only happen to us.

Then on the the Stroller search. Wel lI posted 2 threads on the budget board, one about what kinds of strollers worked well for bigger kids and one about a certain stroller. The more general thread seems to be a bit steamy. I got lectured by a few people about how a 5 year should walk.
So for those of you who might be wondering why I am looking for a stroller for Claire, I guess I better explain myself a bit. So you don't think I'm totally whacked. But of course those people over there who lectured me said I'm selfrighteous and need accept the fact that my little snowflake can walk on her own. :scared1: Yes! Thats what they said!!

So anyways. Claire doens't use the Stroller often. But when we go to Disney, I love it. I can keep her confined when needed, like walking in large crowds. Also when she is tired, she can hop in, and then we don't here complaint about tired legs or feet, or blisters, and can keep touring. We also use it on day trips....like the zoo. She doesn't sit in it normally the whole time, but does like to sit in it off an on. In fact a week ago Claire and I went on our onw to the zoo for the day (we have a membership) and I told her I wasn't going to bring the stroller and she begged me to bring it along, just in case.
She's not lazy, she runs cricles around me, but she can tired out. Some of the peopel basically made it sound like she never walks, but she does. She can hike a 3 mile trail at the metro park with me. We walk aroudn the farm all the time. it's just that sometimes it is nice to have it for her so we can go longer at some things, especially when it's hot. And the stroller also provides me with a bit of storage.
Another use is if I go for an "exercise walk" outside down the road. I live in the country, so there are no sidewalks, and alot of the roads don't even have lines. I don't want her walking on the road, so I push her. It also gives me an even better work out. She gets home and runs around some more. She even walks on my treadmll at times.

So I guess I just wanted to explain myself a bit before people jump to conclusions about me letting my 5 YO ride a stroller.
As alot of you know, there are alot of older kids that use them at Disney, but evidently some of these other "perfect" parents don't see them, or are appalled by them. LOL!

One other side not on that topic, remember how when Paige was almost 5 and 7 and I took her to Disney and we basically carried her at the end of each night because her feet hurt so bad from blisters. I would rather spend $200 on a stroller, than have to go through that again.

Which I did!

LOL!

Today Claire and I went to Babies R Us again to test drive some again. We liked the Volo, and the Triumph. Both about the same, though the Triumph had nicer seats. Then we tried the Quest (all Maclaren). Adn that drove like she wasn't even sitting in it. I was really ron, since the weight limit is 55lbs and talked to a girl working there. I told her about the one I saw online that had a higher weight limit, but really hate to buy it with out giving it a test drive. She told me, go buy it, test it, and if you don't like it, bring it back to the store for a full refund. So that is what I did. I will give it a try and if it is nicer than the Quest, I'll keep it, if not it goes back and I'll get the quest. Both ran about the same price, though I can get the Quest for a little less on ebay, but not by much.
So I'll let you all know how it is once it comes. it is the Aprica Presto, BTW, I got a tea green color.

And that is my day...so far!

Wow! don't let other people tell you how to raise your child! After all, you already raised 2! I understand that claire probably could make do without a stroller, but you would probably get less accomplished in the parks, and there would be more whining from all sides. I don't see any reason not to get her a stroller if it makes life easier for you. I'm sorry those other people on the other threads are so snotty!

Jen, don't pay attention to the stroller snobs. I'm still amazed at the venom that topic brings out in people. They think THEIR way of vacationing is the only way. Additionally, there are some for whom belittling others here is a blood sport.

Heck, if I could find a stroller big enough to hold me, I'd probably be all over it! :rotfl:

I hope they get an answer for Skip soon.
