Dairy Allergy

Hello! :earsboy: I'm taking a honeymoon trip to Disneyland in June. My fiancé is severely allergic to dairy. I have been looking at allergy menus online that others have posted and there is hardly anything (or nothing) that says it's dairy friendly. The menus are awesome about having gluten, soy, peanut, and egg-free options. The menus state they cover the top 8 allergens including dairy, but I have only come across one or two items (that happened to be a salad) that have shown up on allergy menus as free from dairy.

Does this mean the restaurants don't have options for a dairy allergy? He has no other allergy besides this. It's hard to plan when even the allergy menus aren't helpful! I don't want it to be where we show up to a reservation and it turns out there is nothing really for him to have.

DLR is great at dealing with allergies and food needs. Make sure you communicate as clearly as possible what your soon-to-be husband's needs are (be as specific as you can be) on all reservations. Repeat at check in and with your server. A chef should come out to speak with you or you can request this. If nothing on the menu will work, sometimes something can be customized. Be prepared that customizing food can take extra time -- so have safe snacks in your bag to prevent hanger. At CS locations, again, communicate your needs clearly. You can ask to speak with a chef if you need to. Food can be customized, but, again, this can take extra time. It will help if you dine at off peak hours so that the kitchen and staff aren't swamped and can spend time to help you. One reason things aren't printed and published ahead of time is that suppliers can change any time -- and then the ingredient lists have to be changed -- but the old information is still out there online... you get the picture. It's just easier to know that DLR is totally ready to work with your needs when you arrive. Just make sure that you are proactive in communicating what you need and have safe foods with you to tide you over in the meantime.
ETA: If you look into vegan resources/websites/FB pages for DLR, you'll find lists for non-dairy foods and things you can have customized to be non-dairy. For example, Salt & Straw Ice Cream in DTD has several vegan options on their regular menu -- very tasty and totally non-dairy!

DGD has a dairy allergy.
Just talk to the chef and all will be fine.
He even walked the buffets with us and then made her dairy free waffles and pancakes.....different buffets.

My nursing baby has a dairy allergy, so I had to avoid dairy completely on our last trip. The allergy quick service menu options are very limited for dairy and there is not a lot of info out there, as a lot of people can tolerate dairy when its cooked in something, so they're only really avoiding obvious sources. The best info I found prior to the trip was to search for vegan options.
