Dairy Allergies

I know I say it every time someone posts about this bakery but . . . . .

The thought sounds really good. It is vegan and gluten free. And as someone gluten free, I was really excited to buy stuff there.

But, it really wasn't very good. At all.

Always worth mentioning. If just dairy free there are far tastier options for sure. Erin McKenna's is top 8 allergen free, vegan, and refined sugar free. It makes a significant difference in taste.

It didn't occur to me to put down anything when we made our dining reservations, so I wonder if it's too late now. My husband has a shellfish allergy as well but he hates it when I try to bring it up at restaurants, so I didn't mention that either. <sigh> Maybe I should have?

Wait, what? My brother has a shellfish allergy too and he always has to check at places that serve it to make sure they dont use the same frying oil, etc...so he doesn't have an anaphylactic reaction. How does your husband get by without mentioning his allergy?!?!

At any rate, you can call and have allergy info listed if you want.

He likes living dangerously I guess.  So far, he's occasionally told me that his "mouth feels a bit tingly" sometimes when we eat out, due I assume to cross contamination issues. Thankfully, his reactions have all been mild like that. I think he assumes that that's the worst it will ever get. Makes me a bit nervous though.

I had a really good experience eating dairy free in September.

We've found Baby Cakes at most of the QS places - in the dessert section (refrigerated). It's all personal preference but my son likes Baby Cakes better. He's just happy to have dessert in general!

I was like that too, when I was first diagnosed.

But not long after that, I started baking gluten free. And I can do much better then what I have had there.

Lol! Hopefully that’s the worst he will experience!
