:What is the background on the riddle in general. How did it start.

Like Mary Jo and Donna said, Bernie, aka Oldkicker, started it, who knows how long ago. There were a bunch of us who hung out on the riddle as regulars and somehow became know as Bernie's Angels. (Think Charlie's Angels.) The Angels' thread began when the riddle thread went all weekend and people wanted it on a daily basis.

And also historically, in August 2003 there was a huge meet in Sandusky Ohio called Riddlecon.

why arent the answeres posted? Just curious, no problems with the rules, I'm just curious by nature ... (dont want it to sound like a critique - computer reading tone may sound that way - I'm just have some time on my hands, and a friend in the hospital... and thought, hey those riddles may help pass the time...)

sometimes they are posted on the next days riddle, but people tend to just ask the riddle host in a PM if they can't figure it out......or other riddlers help them
