DAH or a 2nd MVMCP?

We are first times at WDW in November. 10 days at AKL followed by 4 at Royal Pacific at Universal. We have one MVMCP. Wondering if we should do AK After Dark in the middle of our holiday or on our split day come back after checking in at Universal to do MK After Dark? The latter has way more rides open. Or should we throw in a second MVMCP to do the MK rides in the dark?
So many decisions and I’m getting myself all confused. Doing a DAH would free up some time in the days for relaxation.

Any advice?

Thanks! :)

I would definitely do a DAH. I would personally pick AK. It’s such a gorgeous park at night and much cooler in the evening. I’ve always found Ak to be hotter than the other parks, even in November.

With 10 days in the parks, I wouldn't pay for a special event to get short ride lines: you'll have multiple days at each park so should be able to get at least one fastpass for everything you want. I'd save the money and add some character or signature meals or fireworks reserved seating.

I do agree with this. When we do 10 day trips we don’t pay for any extras except HEA dessert party because I can’t stand the crowds. We did do MVMCP but that was it. No EMM or DAH.

We spend 10 days and we do it all.
What we found is that doing AH makes the rest of the days at that park far more relaxing. Last May we did AKAH, MKAH and HSAH. We really enjoyed the week knowing we would get to ride all our favorites multiple times during those nights, so there was no urgency to get those in during the day. No waiting in long lines, we just took in the parks and enjoyed the FP's we landed during those days.
If you can swing it financially, I think it's great. That being said, I totally understand that most people can't afford the extra expense.
We (just my wife 40 and myself 47) are "park people", type A's, often starting in the morning and closing down the parks. We really slowed it down with those AH tickets. We took time to eat a big meal around 6 pm, swing back by the hotel, take a quick shower, change clothes and head back to our AH park. The shower and change of clothes really gave us a second wind.
We rode 7DMT 4 times in the last hour of AH, FOP 3 times in the last hour and we rode SDD more times than I care to admit. ha
In a few weeks we are doing it all again on our 10 day. 2 MNSSHP, EPCOT Extra Magic and both AK and MK AH. We have Cali Grill on a Friday for the MNSSHP fireworks with tons of off days.
We won't even start most of our park days until 11 or 12 due to knowing we have the ability to ride the rides in the cooler nighttime hours.

Based on other holidays, I think this is very much our style. It’s just the two of us too and our consideration of the AH events was because we felt it would give us added relaxation time during the days. We’ve got one MVMCP booked, a dessert party, we have some signature dining booked, we have the Cali Grill brunch, Build a Light Sabre and Build a Droid, some Disney Springs cocktail time, shopping time, resort pool time pencilled in etc.

We tend to get up reasonably early (and we have two character breakfasts booked in), spend time out in the morning (though this can be relaxation time; it doesn’t have to be manic running around), then take a break (napping!) around early afternoon before getting a second wind. We like after-dark activities generally, and we are both night owls if left to our own devices. We are foodies, and we are also happy to pay for experiences/higher quality. If EMM at HS was available during our dates we would have pounced on it already as SDD/Toy Story is a big one for us.

Your post was really useful, thank you!

Everyone is different, so what's good for some, maybe completely wrong for others. Glad we could offer a different perspective.
Unfortunately there are no AH for HS this time around due to GE EEMH. It was a lot of fun and we got plenty of TSL in. The funniest thing, we literally had a private viewing of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. ha

Haven't read responses but if it's your first time and you're in the parks for 10 days than I'm guessing 1 MVMCP should be plenty. I'd choose something else rather than a second party.

If given the choice, I would do a DAH even over the Christmas Party. I would also choose MK over the AK one. Way more to do.
