My Family Will Be Going Down In Nov And We Are Staying At All Star Movies I Heard It Was Not Very Clean Is This True ??

Hi,

We stayed last September and it was clean, we had no issues, at all. The foodcourt was being constantly cleaned and our room was cleaned daily. I think you'll be fine! I hope you have a great trip!!:goodvibes

I think it's important to keep in mind that everyone on these boards has their own level of standards. Sometimes, there are issues with a room at Disney, just like there might be at any hotel. Thing is, folks here always hold Disney to a higher standard than they would some of those other hotels - even the really good ones. Some folks will act on the problem and some won't - then they'll come to the boards to let others know their issue.

I wouldn't worry about it until to walk through the door of your room. As you would with any vacation - evaluate it to your personal standards. If it meets them, great - no issues. If it doesn't - then go down to the front desk and let them know exactly what you don't like and ask them what can be done. Be very nice and it will be taken care of! Disney is usually very good about that.

No matter what, have a good time!

You might come out thinking that your room is no better than a room at the local motel 6 but cleanliness will not be an issue and the property around the resort will be excellent. The value resorts are an excellent option.

Totally agree with this, also don't worry that using a value resort will mean lower standards, there were over 30 of us travel in our group staying at various WDW resorts and the only one of us who had to put in a complaint to front desk about housekeeping was my sister in her stay at WL, they were fantastic though and it was seen to immediately

We stayed at ASmo, we had 2 rooms with a joining door for me, dh, our four kids and my parents. The bathrooms were basic but fine, all towels replaced daily, fresh soap, plastic beakers and shampoo too. Our toilet was leaking when we arrived, we called front desk and a man was there and fixed it in under fifteen minutes of calling from desk. Bedding was clean and beds made daily. Anytime we called front desk for anything (crib for the baby etc) they were quick to respond. There was plenty of spare bedding, we could take the towels from the room for the pool and get new ones to the room. I can't complain.

Food court was busy at times but all disposable plates/cutlery so no issues there, choice was a bit limited but not a huge issue when you're in the parks alot anyway. Pool area was steam cleaned regularly (jet washed/steam cleaned the pavements around it too) we saw them doing that often, laundry was tidy and clean, machines all in good order (or notices on them if not working) Staff were helpful too.

We stayed there about 3 years ago. The room seemed clean to us and was cleaned everyday, except...One morning mousekeeping showed up a few minutes before we left, they said they would come back. They did come back later in the afternoon when we had gone back to room for a nap. So they left again. When we came back that night the room had not been cleaned but they had attempted twice so no blame there. However, there was an enormous cockroach on the bed! It ran we chased it around the room, finding cereal and such behind the night stand (not ceral that we had eaten). We finally caught it and called the front desk. He came to the room we showed him what we caught and he said "oh thats a cockroach, they're all over the woods and sneak in when you open the door. If you find another we'll switch your room." Thank goodness that was the only one we saw. We have since joined DVC, but for the price if I was going back without DVC I would give it another shot, but if I saw another that would be it. One fluke allowed for me.

We stayed at All Star Movies a couple of weeks ago. It was just okay. We won't be returning though. Our room was clean, there were no issues there. But eating in the food court was interesting. They apparently have been taken over by fruit flies. It was completely nasty. You could not eat without your food being bombarded by these nasty things. We finally just quit eating indoors and just ate outside. There was also a funky smell near the pool. The resort is definitely in need of some up keep.

We stayed at Movies in 2006 and thought it was a palace!!! My son enjoyed the huge figures and it was very well cleaned. The food court gets busy at the obvious normal eating times: breakfast, lunch and dinner but its like that at any restaurant you go to at meal time! The food selection was ok for what it was. It is better than going to a "regular" hotel and eating a continental breakfast.
They were remodeling the Fantasia pool so we had to go out of our way a little to use the mighty ducks one but it wasn't to bad. It wasn't busy when we used it.
I want to go back so bad but have decided to check out the other value resorts. I did have a reservation for POP but since I will have three kids with us, decided to upgrade to a family suite at MUSIC. My oldest is excited about swimming in the guitar pool!
Sorry this is so long, but ASmo was great and I think you will have a great time! Besides how much time are you really going to spend at your hotel? That's why I won't do the more expensive resorts. I know I won't be able to enjoy what they have to offer since I will be spending most of my time at the parks!:rolleyes1
