HI all,

I am going to BWV in January with my dad to celebrate. We are both married but are planning a trip for just the two of us. We are celebrating milestones in our lives of being cancer survivors (me 20 years and my father for 10 years). I am looking for some suggestions of things you did that were really memorable. Suggestions of things you planned and did that you would never forget.

Also, if I wanted to plan something special for my dad, who would you contact? The front desk or Member Services?

This will be my father's first time staying at a DVC resort. I already can't wait to see the look on his face when he walks through the door.

:) :) :) :wave: :) :) :)

The best thing we have done was repeated twice! We have twice done the Backstage Magic behind the scenes tour. The first time it was 8 hours, and last time it had been reduced to 7 hours and was completely different things. A great special for Disneyphiles! Our favorite meal out for something special is at Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge.

Which DVC resort are you staying at?

Do you guys like to golf?

My husband and my 12 year old went golfing at the Lake Buena Vista Course. They both had a great time golfing and spending time together one on one without brother or I disturbing them. They have twillight golfing which is less expensive also.

Agree with Diane on the Back Stage Tour.

For your location the top restaurants are Flying Fish, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Shulas or go into Epcot and enjoy many great locations.

Do fantasmic dinner package at Brown Derby.

Illuminations is still a wonderful show.

Agree with Nick - Cirque is another great idea and is possibly the best show on property.

I would start with MS and go from there.

Congratulations on your milestones :)

It sounds like you have a great trip planned for you and your father!

You could Leave a Legacy at Epcot - it's a great way to leave something behind that you can visit on future trips.

I've never done any of the tours but I would love to! I'd like to do the Hidden Treasures tour in Epcot.

What about Discovery Cove? You cold swim with the dolphins!

Have a great trip - one of these days I'm going to take my Dad to WDW, he's never been, and he's a bigger kid then I am!

Great milestones! Congratulations.

I have no doubt that you will naturally make memories spending such quality time together. Nonetheless, something that came to mind is the Richard Petty Driving Experience. I have not yet done it, but it seems like a natural to be "memorable"

As for thing I have done, I second golf at WDW and Cirque de soleil. Both are wonderful experiences.

All of these are expensive (but worth it) options. Consider some not so expensive, but memorable experiences......

Driving watermice around Bay Lake (frankly any boating is fun);
Tandem bicycle ride - several resorts have them for rent;
Getting a hair cut (and color - like BLUE - and SPIKY) at Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.

There are lots more...hopefully you'll make some of your own and be able to share them with us too ;)

The Richard Petty experience and Cirque Du Soliel were great suggestions too! I would say any of the suggestions you have gotten would make the trip a hit!
