hi! Do the D23 tickets sell out quickly? I’d like to go Saturday and Sunday but I can’t commit until I know about flights and the school schedules (I’ll have 2 incoming freshmen).

Also, are hotels nearly booked quickly?

Thank you!!

Edited: Oops, I thought you meant the park tickets with it :)

Yes and yes. Its a convention of Disney lovers. Vast majority are going to hit the parks in the days before or after (And the nights of) the convention. And for those who don't have APs, they will be getting the discounted tickets ASAP. ... And all those out-of-towers need a place to stay, of course.

No, D23 tickets do not sell out quickly, except Sorcerers. Saturday is usually the most popular day and will sell out first. But it won't sell out for months. Tickets go on sale a year in advance so you have time. Hotel I would recommend booking ASAP, because most hotels you can cancel until the day before. No downside to at least having a hotel booked. Which hotels should I look at? I’m coming from Chicago so I’m not familiar with the area.

Most people who want to spend most/all of their time at the Expo itself look at the hotels closest to the Convention Center (look at a map of the Anaheim Convention Center to see all the hotels that surround it). There are big name chain hotels (Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, etc.) and smaller hotels, too (Clarion, Alpine Inn, Portofino, etc.). Some people stay on site using D23 rates, but those hotels are further from the CC, which makes it harder to go back and forth to your room during the day. Other people just want the lowest rate possible and don't care about distance. In that case, looking at hotels in Garden Grove can work, then you'd use Uber/Lyft to get to /from the CC and the parks.
