D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 8/9/24-8/11/24 **Tickets on sale 3/26** **Sold Out on 3/29**

I just came here ton check if that 4am time was for real. What... the... heck. That's just ridiculous. "Oh, 4am is much better than camping all night!" Yeah... uh... but so would 6 or 7am.

I guess if they're really expecting people to need to take hours through security and it opens at 9am, and they expect people to do it from their hotels before breakfast, then maybe it needs to be 6am, but still. 4am?

I'm also not encouraged by the fact that the show hours are at 9am, but they open the entry points at 5am. What exactly are people expected to do for four hours? Stand in a line outdoors waiting to go in the convention center? Since all the high-demand shopping will be VQ, what are people quueing for? Special shopping on the show floor with third parties like Lorcana or something? It's just silliness.

There are times when I wish the fan convention could be in one site / building / area and all the shopping could be in another with separate lines and security. Let all the eBay resellers go stand in line for 12 hours. Yeah, I'll shop a little but I'm mainly going for the panels and interactive experiences.
The 5am time would be when they start allowing queuing for panels and show floor access. That’s pretty standard.

This was my experience last Expo: Since I kept on EDT, I did get to Convention Center at around 6:30 AM (9:30 EDT). We were admitted into the building where we sat down in a holding area. We were led into the Expo close to 9 AM. It appeared that those that wanted to go to one of the first presentations had a harder time making it if they didn’t arrive early for admission in the Convention Center. For those of us from either the East Coast or Mid West, you might want to stay on your home time. Of course, it will feel even later when finally getting back from the Honda Center at night.

I get it. But since all the big panels are at Honda, early queuing will only help for standby for the first session of each day. So I guess if one of those panels is “must see” for you and you’re sure it will be fully packed then line up at 5am?

And for shopping it looks like all the limited edition Disney stuff is behind VQs with standby at all so I’m not sure what people would be rushing to hit. Maybe there are limited things at Ravensburger or similar i guess?

The 3rd party licenses usually all have some type of exclusive limited merch.

I guess it’s a good thing I can fall asleep quickly. Alarm set for 3:58am, cross fingers back to sleep at 4:05 for a few more hours. I am *not* a morning person.

Glad VQ in place to avoid the 'running of the bulls' that happened in past expos. Absolutely crazy. 4AM though - wow.
While the bulls won’t be heading to the Disney sanctioned stores with VQ, I foresee the herds heading off into other directions - standby lines for panels and the showroom floor for limited, exclusive items and giveaways.
The nice thing with the BIG panels when they were during the ACC main hours was the crowds were dispersed through the ACC.
Now those attending the Honda Center panels will be on the showroom floor and attending smaller panels in the morning and early afternoon.

Yeah, wondering how adding 5k more people to the showfloor will be handled. They've expanded in D23 Hall and added more programming to really occupy 2nd and 3rd floors this year, so let's see how all that is impacted.

I loved when they had the programming included last year for premium passes. Not sure how it's gonna factor in paneling but it was one of the easiest ways to guarantee a seat. I used to hate how they tell you where to sit unlike sdcc but now I see they do it to fill each seat. SDCC faced a lot of heat and drama for not letting winning lottery emails to go into Deadpool for movie/panel and I was one of the ones left out for others who abused the system.

I'm hoping virtual shop you can try to get a time if your nearby the convention center too if your staying at a hotel nearby.

I'm hoping today I have better luck with selections that I did with SDCC lottery system too.

Also not to start a debate or anything but just come prepare in case you are worried about covid. People who went to SDCC some people did get the virus.

The printable version of the schedule now has that one panel that said TBA on Sunday, backlot stage, at noon. It's A Conversation with Stars Across Disney Entertainment. No description, though.

When do you think we will know what things we got?

We just decided I will not be doing the Honda center after all. I am very upset that some of things I most want to see are at night.

It’s supposed to be today, but who really knows.

I am waiting on pins and needles....nothing yet!

CORRECTION: Just got one confirmed reservation. I certainly hope that is not the only one!

LOL, they gave me the ILM Stagecraft thing at 10am on Saturday. That's it. (I was already planning on going to the 64/65 World's Fair panel, so I'm probably not going to use it.)

I guess I should be happy I got something that was actually on my list this year, lol.

They said they were expanding reservations this year - I kinda thought this would go differently.

I just got mine. Exactly one confirmed reservation. The way the e-mail is worded, it doesn't sound like more are coming...
That would really suck, after signing up for about 12 options per day. Another data point....DD signed up for the same set i did (doubling our chances for variety, we thought) and got the EXACT same reservation I did. SMH

DH and I just got our RSP results. We both only got ILM Experience at different times on the same day.
Two years ago I only got Pixar Ball Giveaway, but I still got into most panels that I wanted with standby. If anyone gets more than a single reservation confirmed, please report back.
Why do they even do this RSP thing? Seems pointless to me. I guess someone is getting the big panels, it's just not you or me! I know they have to spread people out throughout the day.

That said, I'm still super excited to fly out next week!
